The ideal scenario is to sell Onana pre June when there’s a deadline to meet, then if the likes of United want Branthwaite we can tell them to sniff it as we’re no longer under any pressure to sell.

For all the bluster about not being held to ransom they’re absolute soft touches in the market and would eventually stump up the big money.

£40m is what United want to pay and won’t be held to ransom over, I’d be hugely shocked if we caved that much, he’ll go for at least £70-75m if indeed we do sell
Love how teams that paid £80m for Harry Maguire won't be held to random to pay a similar fee for a genuine generational talent. Tell them the price is £100m and if they don't pay it, City probably will.

Wouldn't be surprised in some players plus money deal though as we need the numbers once we've sold Onana, Branthwaite and some deadwood. Probably £30m plus Mctominay and one or two others.

I think this is one of the reasons that Southgate keeps his job for so many years: he weaponises his role as manager of England to bring young players in to get interested parties together for sale/purchase. He's a facilitator of asset stripping for the 'top 6'. You could also see him doing Chelsea's bidding getting in the ear of McKenna on tv last week. He's rewarded for all that with good relations with the game's authorities in this country.

It depends what Branthwaite's contract says, shirley?

If an offer comes in over £Xmillion he will be able to speak to whoever has bid that?

It’s literally a financial decision though? What financial sense does it make to sell an £80m asset for £40m? lol
If we don’t sell we fail PSR and get 4/5/6 points most likely, some of our fans think we need the 40mil from Branthwaite so we can take it in a couple of bags and drop off at Premeir league HQ before July the 1st

If we sell him its got to be for as much cash as we can get, no player exchange. If we bring in players we must make sure we don`t replace the deadwood we are off loading with castoffs from other who just become more deadwood for us to deal with.

We heard all this about Richarlison, that we were being forced to sell him cheap before June 30th because of PSR, and we still failed and got points deducted anyway.

You don’t think it’s any thing to do with getting to finals and semi finals of competitions that England have mostly got nowhere at?

Onana's sale will make us compliant with PSR. We will hang on to Branthwaite for 1/2 more years and sell him for serious, serious dough.
