The tuba has undergone a bit of a renaissance recently thanks to Theon Cross (Sons of Kemet etc)

Saw the MJQ live at Leeds Odeon in 1958. Also, Oscar Peterson my favourite pianist.

old school big band - Jack Heard ran a territory band that worked anywhere from Atlanta to Orlando or anywhere in between for decades starting in the 60s and 70s. This set of alumni of Jack's band put together some videos a few years ago giving you the experience just like it used to be. Get ready to swing! We have a local club that has a big band on the first and third Monday where lots of these guys drop in to play, mostly charts by Bill Prince, who is the clarinet soloist here.
