Can he not do what Ledley king used to do and not train with the team during the week so he’s not injured by the weekends
According to people who played with King he was one of the best defenders around, injury just restricted him.

Gbamin will not be afforded that luxury, a fully fit Gbamin would struggle to make the bench with everyone fit.

It's a physical sport and the body is very fragile especially when you have been out for 20months prior. Just can't make it up, i feel so so sorry for the lad.

Just as an example, not that anyone cares about RBL, but one of their players has been out since the turn of the year, only just returned to individual grass training and the manager has said likely won't play this season. Gbamin went from nothing, to the grass, to playing a PL game in what seemed like a few weeks.
Gbamin’s been doing individual training for months

Has anyone suggested the idea of cancelling Gbamins' contract, or know if it's even possible? Seriously though, you can't help but feel sorry for the guy. He probably thought signing for Everton was a dream move, only for it to be turning out to be something of a nightmare.

Gbamin signed for Premier League club Everton on 2 August 2019 on a five-year contract for a £25 million fee. He made appearances in the club's first two games of the season, before being ruled out for eight weeks due to a thigh injury.

In October 2019, it was announced Gbamin would be out injured until January 2020 after having surgery on a thigh injury. In January 2020, it was announced Gbamin would be out until the end of the season after required fresh surgery. In May 2020, it was announced that Gbamin would be out injured until November 2020 after injuring an achilles tendon in training.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti stated during an interview in January 2021 that he was hopeful to have Gbamin back in training as soon as possible but stressed the need for patience with his recovery, insisting he had a role to play in the team despite an extended spell on the sidelines.

On 5 April 2021, Gbamin came on as a substitute for James Rodríguez in Everton’s 1–1 home league draw against Crystal Palace, making his first appearance for the club since August 2019 due to injury.

Was it Allan who injured him in training, by any chance?

You get the feeling Allan would tackle a double-decker bus if it helped stop a goal for Everton, and the midfielder is just as committed in training as he is on the pitch.

During a rondo session, where players attempt to make as many passes as possible while two men in the middle try and win back the ball, Allan twice committed himself to slide tackles, once on Dominic Calvert-Lewin and again on Yerry Mina.

"Yes Allan!" shouts Seamus Coleman in appreciation.

Rushed him back? The lad didn’t play for 20 months.. I dare say the medical staff working on his recovery have a better grasp of it than anyone here.
Lad just seems to be made of glass.
Are you sure im ready to return to action Carlo?

"Can't help but feel sorry for the guy but we should find a way to make him unemployed"

I don't think there was much wrong with him playing against Palace (well, there was in the situation of the game, mind) but in general, him being available etc.

But it's after that - that's the key bit. It might've been 15 mins, but as you say, it's all the stuff working up to that, then the body adjusting to playing and recovering from that. Bit like when Seamus came back from his leg-break, played one game at full pelt, then was out for a week or two to give his body time to fully recover and the adrenaline out of his system.

He may well have been given that time, and it's just bad luck. But the amount of strain his body will have gone through... he was always going to be susceptible. Which is why someone diving in on him is also completely daft.

He’s got real problems if he struggled to recover from sauntering around for 12 minutes.

It could just be a really unlucky coincidence or it could simply be he was rushed back too soon like loads of us on here were worried about. We have a history as a club of being reckless with injuries.
