I doubt Gbamin refused to answer a morals clause. Just like Kean when he had an orgy in lockdown.

They're idiots. He's an idiot. He's done something wrong and has been punished for it by both the law and the club.

We currently have Delph, Davies and Gomes as our midfield options so I don't know why you want to lose another one - admittedly, one that is hardly been useful atm due to injury.

In Jan, by all means, but that'll be a footballing decision. If Benitez and the club were taking the hardline on this, then he'd have been out of the squad like GS. They aren't, because it's a minor offence that he admitted responsibility for.
Doubt he had much choice other than to admit responsibility so that does him no credit. A player who should be working hard to be match fit out on the lash, not professional.

Well he might genuinely have had two or three drinks. That's the level of alcohol that was in his system. He could also have had a skinful, we don't know.

It was before the season started that this happened so it wasn't when he was injured. That being said, you'd think a lad with his issues would stay away from anything that could build up to damaging his body in any way.

But who are we to tell someone else how to live their life? We have no ownership or right to do that as fans. All we can say is that he has been punished for doing something wrong. But it's not going to result in the club tearing up his contract so people calling for that are just going overboard and it wouldn't be happening if Dom or Rich or Doucoure were in this position.

In fact, didn't Doucoure do something similar last season???

Police seized a £170,000 Lamborghini from Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucouré after he was caught driving the car through north London without insurance, a court heard.
The 28-year-old was detained at the roadside in Highgate for more than an hour before officers took away the car.
It was his second stop by Met officers in a month last summer. He was behind the wheel of an Audi when he was caught speeding at 102mph on June 6 (2020).

Doucouré was “shocked” when shown the speed gun reading, Bromley magistrates heard, suggesting he may have been confused because the speedometer on his French car is in km.

On July 2, he was then pulled over in his wife’s Lamborghini Urus in Dartmouth Park Hill when driving without insurance.

The footballer, who reportedly earns £120,000-a-week, admitted flouting the road rules on both occasions. “I requested the driver to provide proof of insurance,” Pc Sinead O’Sullivan told the court.

“The driver stated the vehicle belonged to their wife and the insurance certificate was at home. We remained on scene for over an hour to allow... for his wife to attend the scene to produce a certificate. Once the driver’s wife arrived, she stated she was unable to produce the insurance documents.”

The car was then seized by police, and Doucouré was charged with driving without valid insurance.
Describing the speeding offence, Pc Thomas Knight said he was stationed on a 50mph stretch of the A41 in Barnet when Doucouré came past at 102mph.

“I asked the driver what the speed limit was on the section of the A41 I had seen him, to which he replied he had not seen any signs,” the officer said in his statement.

“I informed him it was 50mph and to which he was recorded driving at 102mph. The driver was shocked and then replied he didn’t know, and stated he was driving a French car which would have displayed his speed in kmph, which would have been showing 164kmph.”

Doucouré pleaded guilty on February 2 to the charge of driving without insurance, being handed a £600 fine, £166 in court costs and fees, and six penalty points.

He faces the possibility of a driving ban when the case is sentenced on August 2.

Ah here we go, from just before we signed him.

I'd say driving at 102mph in London is more dangerous than what Gbamin did

And he got off with paying £766

Not insuring a Lamborghini is the real crime there.

this latest report may be evidence of a mental health issue, a professional athlete who is struggling to cope with a horrendous run of injuries and his own 'fans' are looking at firing him off. Great support though lads.
Just so I am clear, you are saying that we should forgive a drink driver in charge of a powerful motor vehicle (in evidence) on the basis that he may have a mental health issue (not in evidence)? If you drink drive you are putting innocent pedestrians, cyclists and motorists at risk of death, it's not OK. In any circumstances, just because you are suffering (again, this is supposition on your part, no evidence was presented in mitigation) doesn't excuse reckless, dangerous and criminal behaviour.

It was daft mate, and could have been much worse. Bentiez won't have been happy about it, he doesn't drink a drop. That being said, the club will have known about this incident so it'll be nothing new to them. Clearly Benitez wasn't so concerned that he didn't play him v Huddersfield or have him in the squads. All this happened before the first game of the season.

The person he crashed into sounds like a proper grass, mind.
Are you serious? What should they have done? Taken it on the chin? If a drunk driver crashes into me, I am 100% calling the police. Drunk drivers have no place on the road, whether they are Everton players or Dave from down the club. They kill people. Victim blaming is utter bullshit. Give me some points mods, I don't give a [Poor language removed], people excusing drunk drivers is an utter nonsense.

Maybe mental health issues but the law is broken end of drink driving is dangerous, he is in a fortunate position he can afford to hire a driver etc.

Like many others if it were me it really would mean the sack...

Sure the club is on top of it if other things are going on.
