2022/23 Jean-Philippe Gbamin

All depends what country you're playing in doesn't it. Lille were very happy with Gomes + Trabsonspor didn't really complain about Gbamin did they.

Turkish clubs only loan from us with an option to buy that they never exercise.

I don't think Lille (or an other French team, bar one) can afford big wages like Andre's + give us money.

I think that with Gbamin a settlement will be reached whereby we give him a pay off now with a substantial discount allowing him as a free agent to try to find a club somewhere.

Gomes does have merit as a player and has some value, Dele we will find out about in due course but Gbamin is someone I think the club just wants gone... as does the player who has made that very clear.

Takes some serious serious doing to be the worst singing of the Moshiri era but I reckon he takes it by a landslide

Well he got injured with some serious injuries so hardly the boys fault, we never got to see him after a run of games.

There are worst than him in a footballing sense like klassen, kean and Maupay being fit and contributing nothing

Agreed but I'm not talking about how good the signing was in theory when we made it or how good of a player he is

As a signing, 28m for 6 appearances makes him the worst of the lot - especially when he went off injured in half of them

Can we get any money for him, literally played about 5 times for us and was the worst player on the pitch everytime if we'd have signed him for 2.5 mil would have been gutted let alone 25 mil

I'm sure I've already answered this about 10 times. Well feels like it.

Once you negotiate the price with the team, you then knock off the value of the wages difference. So you are still bringing in some amount, rather then nothing.
The club is happy at your proposal and the player gets a new club/contract and anything they would have lost in wages.

Everybody is happy...

You assume the price negotiated > value of wage difference you give to the player… I don’t. My assumption was baked into my comment.

Lille would have paid for Gomes if they could of afforded his wages.
He only has a year's 'Everton' wages left.

Say lille offer 6mil for Gomes they will have a wage budget set for the player, so we knock off a year's difference on there's and our's wages, which goes to Gomes.

Lille haven't lost out on wages cost.

Gomes hasn't lost out and now has a new contract at a club.
(Instead of being an ignored freebie nxt year)

We actually receive some money towards a player leaving for nothing nxt year.

Everyone wins..

( I am not assuming anything, all I am doing is saying why can't we do it this way.
Rather then keep these players hanging around until contracts run down.

Yes another player who’s cost us a lot of money with no return can’t wait until he goes. Gomes could play a part think he’s better than Davies but high wages for a bit part player. Dele I think he will get a chance to get fit and probably play some minutes, would make sense to pay Gbamin off but I don’t think he’s the type to take it and would happily sit around for a year.
