Confirmed Signing Jesper Lindstrom

One of the big things for me mate is bench options, we just haven’t had any to influence a game last season, thinking of games at City, Bournemouth, Brighton and WHU at home were players came on to influence a game and get a result against us, were we had nothing to balance the scales.

People worried about where lads will play, I’m not, more and the deeper the squad the better.
Absolutely

We went through weeks of Young and Garner having to play wide last year.

Cornet is a good player, think in France he played as a wing back and winger, dyche used him quite a lot as a striker, which I suppose sums up dyche playing players higher up the pitch than they’re used to, doesn’t trust flair players further back

He hasn’t been great on them for us he puts in some decent balls but I wouldn’t say he’s a set piece expert based on what he’s done in an Everton shirt.

Chopping and changing and focus on training matters though mate, if he's designated on set pieces he'll be doing a huge amount more work on the training ground on them, same with any dead ball situation.

At first he had that role and you can see how good he was

I don’t think you forget how to take a corner if you don’t take one for 20 minutes if he was delivering all the time it wouldn’t get swapped would it the reason it gets changed is because nobody consistently delivers good quality.

Way over simplifying it mate, if you are the designated taker in a team you will focus on it way more in practise.

It's like saying otherwise why bother practising pens.

How much time say does garner get in practise on free kicks? I'm guessing a way lot less than if in a game any free designated as his to take.

Nah mate I think the reason it gets chopped and changed is down to Dyche having a attachment to McNeil and young taking them.

Natural due to history with the players but the best sides tend to have it designated to one guy

I don’t think so I think you’re way over complicating it! I would guess he spends the same amount of time practicing them whether he’s going to take 2 or 10 in a game I doubt they pro rata training time based on the percentage of free kicks you take somehow!

So you think Tarkowski is spending as much time as say McNeil taking free kicks and corners in training?

Or go to a different line, you reckon Beckham and Scholes spent the same time in practise on them?

I'll give you something though, the ones who want to be the very best would stay after training and work for hours on their own with them (believe Beckham used to do this)

No that’s not what I said is it I said if you take some you will practice them for the same amount of time they aren’t going to say you only took 2 last week so you can have 10 minutes practice Ashley took 8 so he gets 40 minutes come off it! Garners set pieces are ok but he’s not a dead ball specialist if he was he’d take more it’s just common sense but it’s got nothing to do with this thread and you keep sending 3 replies to every post so no need to carry it on.
