Don’t think we will get him and I understand those that would not want him as he is another older player deemed surplus to requirements at a sky 6 club.

I was dead against the Winks and Ali signings but I see more upside to this if an acceptable package can be agreed (max 120k on a 3 year deal). Lingard has enjoyed a more recent spell of good form than the other two (loan spell at West Ham). He has not had any injuries since that and although 29 he has a good body type and can put in a real shift. He is a good finisher and striker of a ball which we just don’t have. If he played a full season he has 10 goals in him

I also think he has quite an infectious personality and could do well at a club where he is appreciated more.
