Barton has qualties...but I'm sure there are other players out there that are similar that wouldnt chin timmy cahill in training over a strong challenged.

He's still gonna cosy a few million, and to be honest a player like him is probably the furthest down the list on what this team needs

Get Barton in now i think he's exactly what we need a player with attitude and bollox and he happens to be a decent player and he's a BLUENOSE!
 
Again, would Barton offer something to our squad? in my opinion, yes he would so for me he's worth signing things he's done in his personal life don't concern me it's what he does on the pitch and that is pretty good from what i've seen this season, there hasn't been any trouble making with team-mates for five years now as well so I would be pretty happy if we signed him.

I actually enjoyed his rant about the England team. I agreed with all of it. Even him being the best English midfielder this season, as Gerrard's been crap and Lampard's been a mix of crap and injured. I'd say Ossie's been better since then, like, but the point is I enjoyed that refreshingly honest -- if egotistical -- rant.

Ye made me laugh so it was +rep for Barton on his rant by the way!
 

Yeah! I think loads of us agreed with his rants at the England set up, that's no way to behave though! He ranted bout the England team, today he ranted about his Newcastle contract.

He is pure and unadulterated idiocy.

But its the harm Barton would do to Everton because of his hot headedness and violent tendancies which is why i don't want him here.

He'd be no good sitting out suspensions , causing friction and bringing the club into disrepute in the public eye. Which his constant track record suggests he would.

He'd do more harm than good.

If he turns in a mom performance on Sat then chins Cahill on Monday would you be happy?

For me there's a line that even the most crazy players don't cross, Cantona, Ferguson, Balotelli. But Barton does.

We'll be better off without him than with him.

He was right to say what he said. I'm glad someone had the balls to say something. Even Bainsey annoys me by being so humble when it comes to England, with all the "Oh but Ashley is the best and I have so much to learn and he's great and Fabio is right to pick him and blah blah". Say what you're thinking ffs.

As for his Newcastle contract... well that's not too professional, but come on, Mike Ashley is a massive beaut and the Newcastle fans themselves are the ones who say that more than anyone else.

I think Everton could be good for him, i honestly dont beleive hes as bad as people are making out, really on the field in games he has never really done anything in terms of indiscpline, but he does has fire in his belly, its cost benifit really - for me what we gain would be one of the best players in England - i also think people are making to much of his personality and everything that could go wrong - its also worth noting that he has keept his nose clean for a while now and has sought help for his anger and alcohol problems.

The one thing he has never had when you look at his career is a really strong manager consistent:

Keegan *2
Allardyce,
Shearer
Hughton
Kinnear
Pardew

I think Moyesy would be terriffic for him.


That would be great fight Barton and Cahill, in fact feck the footy i want to see that.

I'm not a fan for the obvious reasons but IF he did sign he might be a bit like Roy Keane at utd. He's a good player and would certainly play with passion plus hes a complere nutter. I can't see it myself tho & I'd rather see us stick with rodwell/felli

Leave out, he's been plenty indisiplined on the pitch, including as recently as last November when he punched Pederson.

Sure, maybe just maybe Moyes could straighten him out. I'll give him credit, he does seem to realise he has problems but psychologically i just don't think he can ever stop himself committing moments of madness whether drunk or sober. He seeked specialist help in 2005 but that didn't stop him.

He's too far gone and not that actually that good anyway, certainly not to risk buying him.
