John Stones transfer saga

just look at this post from that thread. This is from a CHELSEA fan:

[Poor language removed] martinez and everton, stupid [Poor language removed] doesn't understand the simple concept of the football food chain, we are near the top, they are near the middle... we poach players from the middle of this totem pole, they poach players from the low end of this totem pole... martinez is just a deluded fool who doesn't understand his team's place in the hierarchy, all the things he's been complaining about i.e poaching players from smaller teams, bidding for players while the season has already started, openly pursuing targets... he does but to teams even lower down the chain

In any case, hopefully they get [Poor language removed] and never receive an offer like that for him again and he is eventually sold for much less...

The deluded melt actually expects other teams to accept the status quo and not try to improve, thereby leaving it to a select few to take all the honours.

I despair of some modern football fans at times.

If TV money disappeared from the premiership now it would be the big clubs that would be hit hardest. Clubs like Everton have a hardcore of supporters that will stay with them Chelsea have probably less. A lot of the "plastic " supporters follow success and if Abramovich sold his shares in Chelea and decided to pump his billions into Charlton in a short time we would see tens of thousands "die hard" Charlton supporters spring up.

Look at Man Utd they are spending unbelieveable money because they cannot afford not to.
Everton could slim down a lot more easily than clubs paying up to 300k per week to a player.

If TV money goes then football as we know it changes completely.

Whilst I agree it would change football the old order wouldn't be restored nor would Everton be in a position to slim down easily no club would.

No big Nev our own greatest Keeper, That sit in seen him fined, the he put a verbal transfer request, and a written on just read the episode in the School of Science book - then big Nev handed a written transfer in to Manager Colin Harvey who slapped a 3 million sum on him , and no one came after him!
So past players have handed in transfer request, and stayed!

enjoyed some of the fume in that thread...

That Chelsea forum is unbelievable. The sheer level of stupidity is astonishing.

Blathering on about Martinez being a hypocrite for signing players once the season has started. Ahhhh, so he's supposed to handicap the club and abide by different rules to everyone else because he doesn't agree with the current structure?

Then the whole "well Everton signed Stones from Barnsley"... Yes we did, and Barnsley were willing sellers... and as I remember it, the first that anyone knew of the deal was when it was signed and sealed. We didn't relentlessly and publicly pursue the player for 5 weeks despite Barnsley repeatedly saying he wasn't for sale.

Absolute joke of a club, with plastic, know-nothing fans.

Can't even quantify what I'd give to beat them all over the park in a couple of weeks.

This is the most worrying thing I've read. I hope if he's staying we get at least another full season out of him.

Martinez went onto say: “Selling one of our biggest assets at this stage of the window wouldn’t allow us to make the squad stronger, if anything, it would be very rushed and could affect the whole season ahead.

“There are times to do it, there are ways to do it.

@TonyBarretTimes: Roberto Martinez very forthright on John Stones again today. Saved his strongest comments for Chelsea & the football authorities.
@TonyBarretTimes: Martinez: "It's no good thinking that because you have a Champions League budget you can click your fingers & get anything you want."
@TonyBarretTimes: Martinez: "John is just another victim of this stupid (transfer) system and he needs protection. It is something that needs to be solved."

@OfficialMR3: @TonyBarretTimes Is the '£37m' Chelsea are offering staged payments or a all up front fee? Do you know...?
@TonyBarretTimes: @OfficialMR3 That was never offered.

Martinez has played an absolute blinder in this entire saga, got to give him.massive credit given the media onslaught pressuring him

I'm surprised people keep peddling the 4th bid myth. Martinez confirmed this morning no 4th bid had been received. The highest Chelsea have bid is still only £30m.
