John Stones transfer saga

Said it earlier in the thread - we should get totally behind this lad now and show him how much we love him.

If you see anyone booing him tomorrow have a word and/or shout them down.

The media are desperately looking for 'hate mobs' to make it look like Stones needs to leave so I really hope we don't give them it.

at this point it wouldn't surprise me if the hate mob was predominantly made up of journalists from our 3 favorite rags.

Martinez has played an absolute blinder in this entire saga, got to give him.massive credit given the media onslaught pressuring him

You would think the media would be hailing him and Everton in for standing firm in this, wouldn't you?

You would think the football pundits/journos/ex pros would be glad the best players are not all being allowed to gravitate to a select few clubs.

You would think they want to see fresh teams vie for the top honours.

Instead we are being villified in most quarters of Fleet Street and the talking heads on TV and radio.

Why is this?

Only one explanation IMO.

There us a cosy old boys atmosphere among the pundit community which is lavished with largesse in order to keep them on message and propagate the gospel according to Chelsea.

No mate. Do you not remember that there is a campaign against Chelsea. lol

Thanks - he spoke very well and obviously still cares deeply about the club. I'm not quite with him on his view of the board but it was a good interview, good to see former players talk so fondly of Everton.

Felt the same as you about his board comments but at least it's something different than pundits continuing to leech off the system by trying to engineer a move to a cash cow that keeps them fat. Some of these jokers need to lose their job.

The difference between Craig Burley/ Steve Nicol and Brian McBride is quite staggering.
McBride is lucid and logical in his argument. He speaks well and presents himself well.
Some may not agree with everything he says but how he says it is impressive.

The other two are an embarrassment.

I always liked brian when he was here

He had a child with a serious illness and he made a hefty contribution to the research into it every time he scored a goal.
