John Stones transfer saga

If Stones gets sold i'm seriously marching upto Goodison and asking for a refund. Then i'm refusing to go the match until things change.

Weirdly Stones leaving would hurt and annoy me more than Rooney going. I'm in the process of making a bow and arrow for Duncs Testimonial, Kenwright better be there

Disagree, I don't think Stones is the type of player to demand a move, however Chelsea are the type of club who would pay stupid money, I'd hold out for as much as possible.
We'll soon see. I just think that when the Champions come in waving stupid money at you, yo would be stupid not to consider it.

We're a club going absolutely nowhere under this board and this lad has he ability to be the best defender in the game.

Make a banner too, mate.

strangely i agree mate

That's damning with faint praise the role he has with us. He's more than a runner, he keeps the ball ticking over for a team that plays possession football. He's the cornerstone.

Lukaku's goals also make him indispensable.
You're a mad man.

Good point.

Completely disagree, quality defenders now days are few and far between, much easyier to get the attackers in but to have a defender with such promise as stones is once in a generation.

And on the championship, those days of bargains have long gone, decent championship players now command upwars of 10 mil not the 1 or 2 like back in cahill days

I'd rather not sell as I don't really think his value has the potential to drop like say Barkley so the longer we keep him the better.

That being said, yes there is a dearth of truly world class defenders in the world right now however that's not really the market we work in. Also yes, you will have to pay more for championship players these days but they have also produced a fair amount of very very good defenders over the years. Soton lost a bunch of their defense and yet defended better the next year, all while playing an attacking style. If he does go and the money is used well (because we have a lot of areas that need improvement) we can get better.

Could do without all this today on the eve of a cup final.

Said elsewhere that Stones will be our player of the season. In three years time he'll be 24 and likely have a bag full of England caps, a Euros16 and World Cup 18 behind him making him potentially a world star with 10 years ahead of him. Then maybe time for him and Club to part ways .
