If they bid £34m then he's gone. No way will our board turn down that sort of money. I hate to say it but I think he will be a Chelsea player before the season starts. Just have to fleece them for every penny we can and get a replacement in as soon as we can.
Feel sick saying this but deep down I think we all know this won't end well.
Depends on who we spend the money on. £34m for a player with a single good season doesn't seem too bad, but he has the potential to do so much more.
If we could talk them into paying that kind of money with a loan-back for 1/2 years, then I'd go for it.
