John Stones transfer saga

Ha, not a Fifa player either so am similarly confused when people mention random names!

We do have a scouting network, Moyes spent quite a lot of time setting it up iirc, but other premier league clubs do as well and from what I can see they aren't finding too many inexpensive gems - or if they do the selling club immediately up the price because it is a premier league club (rumoured to be what happened with anderlech and hence our shady loan with Olympiacos)

Guess we'll see how good our scouting netork is with the playmaker as Martinez is meant to be looking at a foreign player for the role.

Gut instinct is for it to be someone we have had zero link with or inkling on us being after them.

cue Jose showing up 'round there next week with a bottle of that crap fizzy portugese rose' in the flat bottle the fkn greasy c unt
Haha classic mate, can just imagine that with that bugger, tho he would prob spend the day there flirting with the mum and handing out tickets to the dad to try and win them over before john even gets home!

We've played this prefect.

Yet again Mourinho is spouting nonsense to his press hacks and hoping to rile Stone's camp into making a rash mistake while we keep the player and bide our time letting everyone in football know Chelsea our desperate for Stones but if they want him he'll cost them mega money.

Well played to Martinez and the board, by saying nothing you've told the football community we don't sell cheap and we won't be bullied.

It was a matter of time before Mourinho ruined any good feelings Evertonians had for him. I reckon the club should take a stance and outright reject any Chelsea bids publicly by lighting them on fire in the press release courtesy of a Kenwright blue angel.

The Echo couldn't wait to get this out...

He's speaking generally, and he's right. Look at the cost of English talent - Shaw, Sterling...

He could have said the same thing without the disrespect though.

"Smaller other clubs" is a dismissive phrase and antagonistic.

Honestly, for me, it is rapidly approaching the point where it's worth more to Everton to say "not available at any price" and retain the clubs' integrity than sell him.

I'd love it if we published a letter sent to Chelsea saying the price is £50m, not a penny less. Chelsea want it public; let's make it public.
