John Stones transfer saga

Couldnt care less. Any "relationship" is based, at least, on mutual respect. Not on, "you dont sell us an ace player on our terms and we wont loan you anyone".

Can go spin Chelsea for all I care.

Agree. The club nearly sued Jose years ago. Cant imagine they like him too much.

Like I said this should be Martinez response:

'Look Jose. WE ARE NOT LIVERPOOL. We're not selling and these games don't work when dealing with Everton'

TWO BIRDS. ONE (JOHN) STONE(S)

Chelsea’s José Mourinho swipes at Everton in John Stones transfer row
• Roberto Martínez in a ‘strange world’, says Chelsea manager
• Mourinho baffled by Everton reaction to Chelsea bid for defender

José Mourinho has taken a swipe at the Everton manager, Roberto Martínez, as the pursuit of John Stones continues to provoke anger on both sides.

Mourinho, suggesting Martínez is in a “strange world”, remains baffled as to whyhe has furiously accused Chelsea of acting inappropriately and why he made public the initial bid of £20m that was rejected by Everton.

Mourinho maintains the Premier League champions have dealt with the move for the 21-year-old, which could break the record for an English defender, in the correct manner and he will not relent in his pursuit.

Mourinho is playing mind games. Chelsea and he have acted appropriately in this business. Hi is covering his backside and trying to show himself as Mr Nice Guy. Bottom line he is desperate to get Stones before Terry is packed up during the next season.

NEA mate. If we don't want to sell or need to sell.

He won't be sold.

Simple as that.

Thats why Martinez should come out with the Liverpool analogy. As it will make everyone fume. But us.

A couple things just don't sit right with me. The news of Chelsea's bid coming out right after Stones said he was happy at Everton. Also, and more pressingly Gary Cahill publicly advising Stones to join Chelsea. Cahill has the right to say whatever he wants but saying what he has publicly both puts pressure on Stones and disrespects Everton.

The sad thing is that there is technically nothing wrong with either of those things, so when Everton don't like it, it just serves to make us look like cry-arses. But the fact remains that Chelsea are using more than just negotiations with Everton in their attempt to sign Stones, and I think we've got a right to feel somewhat aggrieved.
What bothers me about Cahill's comments is that he phrases it as though its Stones' choice. He basically says "It's scary but Stones needs to be brave enough to take this opportunity." But it's not Stones' choice, he is our player under contract for 4 years. There is no opportunity for Stones. They made a bid and we rejected it, which means there is no opportunity for Stones at Chelsea, not until we say so at least.

It's a flagrant attempt to get him to put in a transfer request, I don't know how it's not against the rules.

Makes you wonder if JM has even heard of him.

I havnt btw

He does look a little like him.

On 10 July 2015, Christensen joined Borussia Mönchengladbach on a one or two season-long loan deal from Chelsea

They want Stones to either put in a transfer request or act like Sterling and force a move. Bombarding the press isn't meant to sway Kenwright, it's meant to sway Stones.

Unless I have missed something the only comment from the club, other that the chairmans comment on ability, came from that origanal press conference. Despite what some would think they know about this whole affair nothing can be stated as being fact

With regard to Rooney there is little doubt that the player and SAF were at loggerheads prior to Moyes appointment and all the signs were he would be sold but the cynic in me seems to think that Rooney really wanted away and other than MAn Utd seeing Chelsea as rivals they would have been glad at that point in time to see the back of him.

We have no idea when the £20 million bid was made nor when of if another bid has been or will be made.

Some are seeing the lack of comment from the club as being a sign that no further bid has been made or something akin to that others like me think thats not the case .
