John Stones transfer saga

In regards to all the bigger club, smaller club tosh thats being talked about recently:

I Met a couple of Chelsea fans on our way out of Wembley in the '09 FA cup final, we thought it was weird that quite a few were leaving the ground early with us blues.

'Why aren't you staying to watch your team lift the cup lads?' I asked, 'There'll be more to come...haha don't be sad lads, you win some you lose some' they replied.

I suppose that's what having a Russian Billionaire's does to you, I'd rather keep trying the hard way thanks.
That's unreal. What ages were they roughly mate?

I'd love to think he'll be here for years to come Joe but Chelsea are just the first club to come calling but they won't be the last. As I said Stones and his agent will likely have considered this sort of thing before it happened and hopefully their not fooled by the media BS being spouted.
If he is not for sale Doug he is not for sale end of -just because clubs come calling remember they did it for Baines we said NO - and that is it the chosen one is backtracking today!
He made a right mess of trying to temp the best young future Everton/England Captain away now he is sayin his squad is complete like him a complete big mouth idiot, and thats put politely Doug - only if we had interest in Tim hey Doug!lol

No sorry I was wrong....having such a huge financial advantage is clearly something they should be proud of as they really did earn it.....oh no wait, they didn't, some Russian crook just needed somewhere to sink his cash into.

Arsenal are a proper football club, don't even try and compare media friendly FC to them FFS!

I think that is an over simplification there, By God.

The seeds of modern day Chelsea were sown by late Matthew Harding.

It was his money that dragged them up from the gutter....and he a lifelong fan.

He re-vitalised a yo-yo club in the 90s and by the turn of the millennium they were a slick, trophy winning team with world class Stars like Zola, Vialli and Gullitt playing for them. They came very close to lifting the title circa 2001.

When the Russian crook and asset stripper took over they were already in the CL.

Now, no doubt it is his filthy and tainted lucre which has maintained their position at the apex but let's not kid ourselves......Chelsea had transformed itself and was on the march long before the Russian gangster arrived.

Unlike their partners in nouveau riches up the East Lancs, which was a nothing, yo yo football club boasting Shaun freakin Giater and Paul Dickov in their starting XI before they were given a free ground and were taken over by their human rights loving sugar daddies.

And the saddest thing of all is that just as football stood at the most seminal crossroads in its history around 1992 or 93, Chelsea had Matthew Harding on the board.....while we had Peter feckin Johnson

far as i am concerned id rather have success the way we are than will billions spent on the pitch.

for me the excitment is not from winning but the unexpected. We paid next to nothing for del yet im more excited to see him play than i am if we had bought Di Maria. Cleverly (im the minority) makes me look forward to seeing the midfield more than if we signed muller.

there are exceptions, the likes of de bruyne and that would still want to see.

But yeah, not saying i dont want those calibre of players, just saying its better when we sign a lukaku/fellaini/yakubu player than signing 5 of them every year.
I don't get any more pleasure out of cheering crap millionaires than I would with talented ones.

We cash our grotesque Sky cheques just like everyone else. Only difference is that we've been too stupid to capitalise on the opportunities presented by the Murdoch era.

Its not nonsense - if Stones goes what message does it send to our few star players they would be looking for the exit door before the season starts!

No message at all.

Stones is being head hunted.

No one seems to be coveting any of our other players to any great extent.

Except Hammers who want to offer Thursday Night football to our wannabe CL superstar.

There will be no mass.....or even mini.....exodus in the wake of a Stones to Chekse transfer.

Depends on your definition of "wrong" I suppose. Illegal? Of course not. But Cahill's comments were insulting. You are also omitting the fact that PRIOR to the first bid we told Chelsea he wasn't for sale and we don't want bids. Then you bid a ludicrous amount that had 0% of success (20m ... I mean honestly) and leaked it. It's not the bid per se that's out of the ordinary, it's the fact we said "no bids" then you bid a stupid amount and leaked it to the press. Is it "out of the ordinary for modern football?" Sadly not ... but doesn't mean it isn't scummy.

That's a unique interpretation of him saying he doesn't want to sell his players.

Because we don't want more money. We don't want to sell. Your money is useless. I don't want it. Nobody better than Stones is signing for us. Money from you billionaire clubs is a poisoned chalice. You take a Champions League player away for us but we can't as a rule -- Lukaku being an exception due to the loan -- get CL quality players to sign for us. So we can never improve by selling. I don't want 50m. Honestly. Zero interest. I want Stones.

He's learned enough playing for us that he's increased in value by at least 1000% in two years ... so I think he'll be just fine here actually playing every single week.

Congrats on finally surpassing half our league title total by the way. Almost as many as Sunderland now!

That's him told. Well in.

Disagree - totally you have it wrong players like McCarthy, KM, and Lukarku even Coleman may go would be gone by the 1st of September imo!
We need at least three quality signings to show that we mean business next season, and a better kind of attacking football with delboy already injured we need a tonic a pick me up not a transfer of one of our biggest assets!

Ah, So a Chelsea fan all his life from London is not allowed to be happy they won the league, because they are rich ??!!

And when we won stuff, players played for free, and every one of them was a born Blue......and we never spent a penny!!

You are a deluded and very bitter.

I hope all our fans are not like this, and its very close to Liverpool fans attitude towards anyone who win.

It seems that nobody can win anything unless they get the approval of Scouse footy fans!!!
