Players taking performance enhancing drugs, fielding larger squads or bribing officials is cheating. Having more resources is clearly not cheating. The money has allowed them to cheat (yes cheat) their way to the top and stopping the likes of us and spurs competing fairly. Imagine what a couple of seasons in the CL could have done for us.
It may not feel entirely fair or just with such differences in wealth between clubs, but hey ho that's sport for you. It's not a level playing field.
Is it cheating that at the Olympics countries such as China have larger population and thus having a larger chance of finding potential stars?
Is is cheating that America are a wealthier country than say Cambodia, therefore they are able to ply more resources into development of athletes?
Personally, I'd say no for both. In any sport some groups (clubs, countries etc) will have more resources than others. It's competition.
I doubt you'd be moaning and claiming it was all unfair if we were bankrolled by some Sheikh.
