Because there is still a month left. Everton will drag this out and sell as the window closes. We've done it many times before: Rooney, Lescott, Arteta, etc.

Mourinho knows stones is worth more than that. Hes putting in these bids to try and get the player to force the move imo. It makes Chelsea look keen they've had two bids rejected now but anyone with half a brain can see stones is worth more than 25million. Bet he's hoping the bids unsettle stones and he puts in a transfer request. Granted that gives him no guarantees we will let him go but it makes his position a lot easier and makes us look the bad guy.

We owe Chelsea pennies. Something like £4m.

Its nothing really and is all contracted.

Meaning in actual fact we owe them nothing. The money they are due is already contractually arranged and has been set aside.


It has no bearing on the John Stones is an Everton player issue.
