John Stones transfer saga

Here we go again, Ed.

Kevin's only "crime" is that he judges Everton by higher standards than most on here do.

If Kevin Ratcliffe is "negative" then you can bet your boots there is sommat to be negative about.

He has earned the right to criticise mediocrity at our club.

:)

He's earned his right to an opinion, but it would be nice if occasionally he said something positive. The former RS in the media rarely if ever talk the RS down, our most successful skipper rarely if ever talks us up.

And there's your answer right there, Block.

They are them and we are us......vive la difference......;)

To paraphrase the late, great Brian Labone.......one grounded ex Everton pundit is worth twenty ex Liverpool ones :pint2:

Posters turning on our most successful ever captain for giving his opinion on what figure the club will accept.

*shakes head

Tbh I'm sick of him. If you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem. He talks the club down constantly when we need to enhance the standing/brand

Only just clocked Matt Law mentioning 'Everton insiders' in his article. So basically he's saying 'Ive listened to Kevin Ratcliffes radio interview and PERSONAL OPINION and passing it off as insider info'.

Fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion on ex-players. The point I was highlighting though was that he was giving his opinion on what he thinks the club will accept, not what the club should accept, and has been criticised for it. There is a massive difference in the 2.

I will agree that he is crap at commentating though.

@TeleFootball: #EFC fears grow over defender John Stones as #CFC prepare £30m bid. @Matt_Law_DT reports - http://t.co/C7Og5xhq7p http://t.co/DIv8FTWeSn
From that article
. Should they succeed in their bid, then Chelsea will give Stones encouragement that he would make at least 30 appearances this season with the view to eventually succeeding captain John Terry.

Well Zouma made 26 appearances so that isn't much to get excited about - what it ended up being was less than 700 minutes in the premier league.

This is why I get annoyed with people defending Ratcliffe, saying 'He's only saying the truth' and 'Blame the board'.

No, I blame Ratcluffe for essentially creating more disruptive unhelpful headlines, due to his rampant disrespect of Everton's stature.

Compare Ratcliffe's comments with, say, what Big Dunc thinks of the club.
