John Stones transfer saga

Thanks for posting. I had wrote similar about several of the players are not on board with the manager a few months ago - people don,t understand that this discontent goes far beyond one or two players.

This is only going to go one way when the players and the board appear to be standing on the sidelines in terms of the support of the manager.

...from another inside source presumably?

I can't give links to a conversation I had in a friends house, I'm taking it with a pinch of salt so I'm not surprised you do mate

No, I wouldn't expect you to give "links" to a conversation you had in your friend's house.

The "Links" in my post was an abbreviated reference to Lineker's Legs, the poster I was replying to.

:)

Watch this space!
He's going. Nothing surer. He'll leave with a few days left in the window and Martinez will be given a fraction of the cash.

This summer has been chosen to make a massive grab for cash by the board. Some will give them leeway on it by thinking that they're doing it to pay down a debt and all but eliminate it or squirrel much needed stadium funds away for safe keeping. It wont be on either counts.

Run by carpet baggers for 15 years. I'll take the piss out of the Kopites as much as anyone, but they'd have thrown this load of reprobates into the Mersey about a decade ago.

Getting ridiculous the open courting in the press and even worse the press themselves on a one man mission to get him the move.

Show a set of bollocks come out say he's not for sale at any price, criticise the Chelsea players speaking out, ban certain papers and journos and lodge a complaint with the fa over the obvious tapping up going on

Not going anywhere this summer now.

I believe this to be the case.

The notion that we are going to sell Stones in the next few weeks and panic buy the first centre back we can find to replace him then give the new guy time to blend with Jags is too horrible a vista for me to even contemplate.

If this was to happen I think we will be in the relegation mire in the opening months of the season and will be looking for a new manager sometime around November.

This saga has not only ruined the joyous anticipation of the new season for many of us, but now has the potential to undermine our entire season.

People believe want they want to be believe so does it really matter..The results will bear out these comments from me and others.

Anyway back to the Jones stones thread.

It's all conjecture. It's like someone saying after the 5th place finish thatthey'd heard all the players are made up with Martinez and are glad to see the back of Moyes. Equally spurious.

Things go well - internal politics are not a problem; things go bad - the squad are up in arms.

Twas ever thus.

Could do without John Terry talking on Sky about how Stones is the future backbone of Chelsea.

The sheer arrogance of these people knows no bounds.

He doesn't play for you!
You've failed with 2 bids!
You've been told he's not for sale.
The player doesn't want to leave as he's not handed in a transfer request!

This shameful tapping up by media is absolutely tawdry.

It's the sort of crap that turns me off football completely.

Did this just happen? That coupled with Cahill comments and Chelsea's general approach to this they've crossed the line far to often and is now surely worth reporting to the FA, sod any special relationship or turning the other cheek. It's been well reported he's not for sale, now we should be briefing the press that he's not for sale to Chelsea and that the player won't consider a move to a southern club as he's very settled in the north and seeing as City and Utd are seemingly respecting our stance on this I'd much rather see him end up at one of them if and when he moves.

I just caught that on Sky. one minute I think he ain't going and the next I am far from sure . Terry's comments suggested that the Stones deal to Chelsea was happening

As I said in my earlier post Terry wasn't talking in the context of it happens it was more about how the age profile of their squad was lowering and part of that was Stones
