John Stones transfer saga

I love you really, but your relentless talking bollocks does get tiresome after a while
I suspect ( well, hope ) that one day you'll get a proper job and we'll hear less from you !!
What would a proper one be, a FT one? Bit hard faced that lad...and as for chatting bolocks: physician heal thyself.

Saw it on The Guardian before, pretty much 90% official Chelsea did indeed bid 20 mil. I imagine BBC will run a story on it tomorrow, which will well and truly confirm it.

If they bid at 30m i think our board will snap their hands off. I hope not, i buy my season ticket to watch the best players and stones will be op there with the best.

Every top club in Europe are interested in him lad. No surprise. Hopefully, we'll have him for another season at least. As others have said, I don't think he'll force a move, which means if we sell, it's because of the board, and I don't know if this current board could withstand us selling one of the best homegrown talents of the last ten years.

Though I agree that he still has to prove himself to be world class, obviously.
We don't know that. In fact there's zero evidence of that. The same way every top club in Europe wasn't after Sterling. They know because he's English he wouldn't be value for money because the English club's interest would just inflate his value. I would actually be very surprised if any of them were following him closely.

Was just pointing out that it will get worse on here. The higher the bids get, the more disagreement and hyperbole there's gonna be.

As for it being a non-story, then, well, it's quite significant. It's not a tabloid rumour. Chelsea just made a bid of 20m for one of our players.

Of course it's not a non-story, perhaps I was being overly facetious - What I meant to say is that people are getting steamed up about the club, the board, the chairman, 'never setting foot in Goodison again' etc.

Nobody has done anything wrong, people just love a reason to moan about Everton.

I don't want Stones sold, but I am a realist at least. If Chelsea bid enough money (which I think will eventually be between 30 and 35 million pounds - a world record for a British defender so not exactly chump change) then we WILL sell him.

Don't be fooled into thinking that we're the only team in the world that would accept such an offer - 90% of teams would.

Barca are, Bayern are. They're keeping tabs on him. Perhaps because a very good, young centre back is less likely to be a flash in the pan compared to a winger, or forward, of the same age.

I'll start being worried at an offer of about 28 mil, but ultimately, I reckon it'll be around 35 that see's him go.

And bearing in mind it's Chelsea, with us owing them money for Lukaku, is there any way that could have an effect? Especially in terms of FFP and how our board deal with this situation?

I don't think we need the money this time around. The financial aspect of the club isn't even relevant anyway. It will be the managers decision.

You really think that's the case? I don't think the manager gets to decide whether or not £35m comes into the club or not - It's about a third of the value of the entire club!

And of course money is an issue. We're still wheeler dealers in the transfer market - That much money opens up all sorts of possibilities.

We should sell and I think we will if the offer gets higher than £30. Yes he might be the next world class CB, but every player has a price. With the exception of Real and Barca and perhaps Bayern there will always be a bigger club sniffing around for talent and perpared to pay loads for them.

Have we ever sold a player against Moyes or Martinez's wishes? Doubt it mate. It's the one good thing that Bill makes sure happens. Moyes might have had to have sold to buy at times, but who he sold, who he bought, and how he managed HIS budget was always up to him.

He won't be going anywhere ffs stop wetting yourselves, you remember Martinez saying £50 million wouldn't get Barkley 2 seasons ago? Well I'm assuming he's thinking the same regarding Stones. It's 1 year away from an international comp Stones wont leave to sit on Chelsea's bench.

Start panicking when stones says he wants out and/or the club accept a bid. Sick of reading "I THINK at £30 million he will go" then someone replying "your wrong lad I THINK at £35 million he will go" have a day off boys.

Bids from current PL champions don't stop alas.

He'll be gone for around £30m + add ons before the window closes.

Time to start thinking about how to spend the money. If there is enough time of course.
