John Stones transfer saga

If you sell John Stones you have no desire to be successful at all. You can't just pick another one up. He is a rolls Royce defender the best since Ferdinand by a mile. We'd be lucky to find a replacement in the same quality bracket as Jagielka and Cahill let alone Stones. Look around the league, big money spent on Chambers, Jones and Smalling, none can hold a candle to Stones. Like Suarez and Bale, if we sell there is no like for like replacement. We'd have to accept an inferior defence and improve other areas.

This is a club that spent £50m on Torres, Neiler. Behave.

They also played 30 mill odd for Costa, Fabergas and Hazard each. As much as i like Stones. Hopefully i am wrong. Chelsea are far from mugs in the transfer market of late.

One of the worrying things about this from a board atractiveness POV is that i would think we still owe Chelsea huge wedge for Lukaku, which may be factored into any deal.

I want Stones to stay. Very much so. He will be an excellent player in the coming years.

For me though he'd still be learning on the job here. No question he's still rough in many aspects of his game. If we got £30M for him we can get a good replacement and then some in the short term. I wouldn't see this as big as a disaster if McCarthy moved on. Lukaku and McCarthy are our jewels in the crown as finished/almost finished articles.
Koff lad, thats the most clueless thing you've come out with

Disagree with you on that.

John Stones is the real deal, havent seen an english centre back like him since Rio.
Now he is filling out a little he is only going to get better.
I genuinly think he can go and play for one of the european giants

Although I don't want to accept he might be off, I'm going to think towards the future...

How old is Galloway and let's say our starting CBs next season are Jags and Evans, could Galloway be ready to get some serious game time if either of those two get injured?

Jose is the best defensive manager in the world, John is a good lad and very level headed but I can see him wanting to work with Jose.

Plus a 100K per week contract will help him make his decision to leave easier.

I don't think he really wants to move but with Sterling now making 200K?/wk I surmise that he could get at the minimum 150K/wk. I assume he would be tempted. Plus being on big $$$ club pretty much assures you an automatic place on England even if you are the No.3 guy at Chelsea and even if you don't improve.

We've done well in the past getting quality defenders from the championship or on the cheap from somewhere. Losing a defender isn't like losing a top goal scorer. So if the money is good (40Mish) and our scouting is still sound I won't worry too much about it.

@Moomin - you missed this mate

This lad is the best young centre half in the world. Reminds me of Franz Beckenbaur when I've seen him on the telly. No way is he going anywhere for under what PSG gave them for Sideshow Bob.

We accepted 24mill for Lescott and that was years ago ffs.

40mill for this or go home ...

And what, once hes had a good season sell him on again. We need to build a team not rebuild one every 2 seasons
