I still wouldn't sell him. Too much water under the bridge now to sell up. Even if that means he's dropped from the team for a bit.

If we did sell then the price for every player we would subsequently go for would go up so its a hopeless task.

Lukaku's interview with The Guardian makes a bit more sense now. You can only hope Bobby/Board has lined stuff up in the background to go through if this is triggered.

Modern football is a bit awful.
 
IF we couldn't add a quality to this team, there's no point in keeping him - he'll go sooner rather than later. That's a sad fact.

If we want him to stay, we need to be ambitious and show those ambitions. All up to Bill and co. But right now we look like some dreaming fools.

Cant stand it,when players act as the papers say about us,as we are a steping stone to a so called bigger club etc,Everton should NEVER ever be a steping stone to anyone,the papers and media look to have got there way and got into john stones mind,if this is true,now instead of us going mad about so called trying to get players,all we are going to have right till the last minute is Someone outside Everton making sure hes sold

Well we will need 3 more centre backs. We need 2 more as it is.

Stones is on what, 30k a week currently. 3 more centre backs on 30k a week each. Its terrible business for us even with the amounts rumoured.
 
Well as usual the money will see us going for another couple of years. I know Martinez has a plan to build a team over time but that will be impossible when our better players will always be taken by these richer clubs.

Why not. Price is based on demand, not on value. If a billionaire wants to buy something he can't get anywhere else and his heart is set on it you'd be a fool to sell at a reasonable price. The Terry suspension / fall from grace only raises the price by an extra 30%. Come this time next year he'll be worth even more.
