State of the people in here moaning about what Roberto has said, hahahahahahahaa.
I KNOW LETS HAVE HIM BE QUIET WHICH MAKES THINGS SO MUCH BETTER. EVERTON HAS TO BE A NICE CLUB, A QUIET CLUB, A CLUB THAT SURRENDERS TO EVERYONE, HOW DARE ROBERTO GO AGAINST THAT.
Exactly! What are they going to do apart from offer more money?!What is it about Chelsea that scares you so much?
This.I think some of our fans appreciated the fact that he said that out loud.
I know I did.
Nobody has a problem with him saying Stones isnt for sale etc, however he his having a petty dig at Chelsea, when it appears that all they have done is made a bid. I dont see any quotes from Mourinho, Abramovic or any other Chelsea rep regarding being interested in Stones so why the outburst?
So how did the media know a bid was rejected. Rejected bids shouldn make the media
"Roberto Martinez has accused Jose Mourinho of operating beneath Everton’s standards after the Chelsea manager spoke publicly of his desire to buy John Stones.Nobody has a problem with him saying Stones isnt for sale etc, however he his having a petty dig at Chelsea, when it appears that all they have done is made a bid. he had been here on loan thoughIt's nice to see him showing a bit of backbone. Also quite funny, after he happily spoke about how much he rates and wants Deulofeu before a deal was close to being agreed with Barcelona.

Some people hate him. No question. Can't think what else RM could have said more.Seems by the posts here he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't,who'd be a manager
What he said would have (in my eyes) crossed the line had it been Bournemouth. It's one thing to hit out at United after they went out of their way to deride the club. This, though? Leaks are nothing new in football, and are now very much a part of the landscape.
Kenwright claims to have a good relationship with Chelsea. Why not call them up and say: "We've done business together in the past, and we'd like for that continue. However, if you wish for us to do business together in the future, keep it out of the papers."
Pride and ego are rampant everywhere, but particularly at this level. Martinez satisfied his own ego today, and I'd expect Abramovich or Mourinho to respond. Whether that has an impact on Stones remains to be seen, but it doesn't exactly benefit the mutual relationship between the two clubs.

Roberto Martinez has expressed his disappointment at Chelsea making comments to the press regarding John Stones.
Speaking following Everton’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal in the Asia Trophy final, Martinez said:
“First of all, we pride ourselves in playing a certain way and educating our young players in a manner that means they are always going to get attention from elsewhere. That is a compliment, a footballing compliment
“The other side is the disappointment in seeing a football club making it (the bid for Stones) so open, I don’t think that is the way we do it at Everton.
“We don’t speak about a player when he is registered at another club and there is no issue from our point of view – John Stones is an Everton player full stop. We are not a selling club in that respect.
“We work in order to fulfil our potential and I think in the last two years we have been very brave as a football club.
“We have given young players opportunities to develop important roles and we will carry on doing that.
“We want to be strong and as competitive as we can and we are going to carry on doing that. That is the only focus I have today.
“We are not a club that need to be worried about what other clubs put through the press.”
