John Stones

Apologies if I it appeared that I implied that you were. Rather, I was agreeing with you that experienced centre halves would have found it difficult.

Therefore, we cannot expect Stones to be the perfect and utterly consistent defender we'd like to have. He will make errors along the way.

Unfortunately though many Evertonians are too quick to criticise our players, so was more of a warning that John needs time to develop.

I'm actually surprised how consistent he's been for such a young lad, therefore one poor game isn't shabby at all.

This is what makes me think he's the real deal. For all the hype the likes of Sterling and Barkley get, they can be boss one week and then you can forget they're on the pitch the next. Don't have this issue with Stones, he's solid as you like.

I agree and think he would be a better player with 3rd CH, letting him come out of defence with the ball will give us a World Class footballing defender

On the negative I thought he was poor yesterday(with the rest)

Maybe, but I don't think 3 at the back would work for the rest of the team. We need to stick to a back 4 IMO.

I think having a player like Barry could give more freedom for Stones to stride out because he knows that Barry or whoever is there to cover.
Have Stones as we do, and we gave just have another CH who defends.
give him that bit of freedom and he becomes different class
A

Benteke gave him a hard time yesterday but he is only learning and will be better for it in time.
Just hope he stays this summer

I think besic who has played CB could play infront of the back 4 and drop in alongside jags when stones moves forward
Would like to see besic get a game or 2 now
Put it this way cleverly would have never ran off the back of him yesterday for the 3rd goal

You could well be right i just hope they let him learn his trade with us for a few years
Think we would be crazy to sell any of our young players as their value is only going to increase
But would put anything past kenwright
Terry will definitely play next year and with Cahill & zouma
Think it would be a bad move for him at the moment
I'm not saying he's not good enough to get in the Chelsea team
Because he is but obviously could be sitting out for long spells
But he will play every week for us
And he will want to make the England squad for next summers Euro's

The thing is he knows he had a stinker on Saturday, I never saw any of the Villa game so last time I saw him play was against Utd, on Sunday I saw him outside the ticket office at Oakwell, I spoke to him for a few minutes as we walked towards the turnstiles, i commented on his display against United, and how good it was to see him score, and wished him luck going forward with his career, and told that we're proud of him, his reply was you wouldn't have been proud had you seen yesterday's game, pulled a shocked face, and said at my age your always learning and improving and after yesterday it's a good job because ive a lot of that to do

Everything I hear about this guy makes me think he really is special. He's modest, he does loads of charity stuff, he has time for the fans, and he plays like a young Bobby Moore. Love him to play C L with us but if that doesn't happen, he's going to Real isn't he? And not just to warm the bench.
