McCarthy is a Keane sort of player, Barkley is a Zidane type,to me at least. One makes a better captan than the other.By the time Jags is done, Barkley will be 23/24, by which time I reckon he'll have cut the inconsistencies out of his game. The lad was born to captain Everton.

Think Barkley will be closer to Gerrard than Zidane personally.McCarthy is a Keane sort of player, Barkley is a Zidane type,to me at least. One makes a better captan than the other.

Possibly so. I'm just not sure Barkley is a captain. Certainly not yet. His mentality as @Layne pointed out isn't that of a captain. He could grow into it though.Think Barkley will be closer to Gerrard than Zidane personally.
No obviously not yet.Possibly so. I'm just not sure Barkley is a captain. Certainly not yet.

With Phil Jagielka nursing a hamstring injury, it was down to Stones to pair up with Sylvain Distin at the heart of Everton’s defence. The young Englishman excelled.
Hammers striker Carlton Cole lasted just 29 minutes up against Stones and Distin. “I just felt he wasn’t holding the ball up,” moaned West Ham boss Sam Allardyce.
Enter Andy Carroll from the sub’ bench... But he also got no change from Stones, who won 71.4% of his aerial duels on the day. The versatile defender shows a maturity beyond his 19 years.
Blues boss Roberto Martinez acknowledged the former Barnsley man’s contribution after the final whistle.
“If you want to find the hardest test for a centre-half, it’s playing away at the Britannia Stadium. The next one is when you face West Ham,” he said. “I thought he (Stones) was terrific. His decisions, his distribution, the way he was commanding, his partnership with Sylvain Distin - it was all terrific.”
Jags and Distin makes mistakes like that, Distin in particular, but youngsters tend to be under much more scrutiny, much like coleman was a couple of seasons ago, I agree totally with the sentiment, we need to be fully behind this kid, because I'm convinced he will be our best center half in two seasons timeI wonder how the forum would have reacted if his fluffed clearance straight to Carroll had ended up in the back of the net instead of Howard saving.BTW I do think he is an amazing talent for a 19 year old just hope fans can be patient with him when he makes mistakes that cost the odd goal
