If he had played the ball like he did at Spurs, we wouldn't have conceded a penalty.

Against Spurs, he played the ball intelligently and looked to carry it forward out of defense, forcing the attacker to foul him. Today, he just wanted to pass it backwards and ended up doing it poorly after hesitating too long.

It's called dallying. Literally no reason to do it on your own goal line.

Why doesn't someone on the 'coaching' staff get a grip of him? He's doing the same stupid things every week.

He's a bit of a snide in how he puts his teammates into trouble by forcing unnecessary passes onto them, presumably so that his YouTube highlight reel isn't compromised by a rogue clearance. The one to Oviedo in the second half was scandalous.

You just know that Martinez actively encourages it.

It has probably reached the stage where he wouldn't listen to the coaching staff at Everton.

He keeps being told how fantastic he us and how he will be at a CL moneybags team very soon and best riding the international stage as a Colossus.

He has stopped playing for the team and is playing the way he feels like as far as I can see.

What we have here is a young player who is reading all the praise and compliments in the press and believing the hype. His head is gone and you could argue it was from the start of this season. Has struggled all season for form and hasn't put a string of good games together at all. Someone offers 40 mil or more bite their hand off. Funes Mori is more than capable and we have more coming through the pipe.

It wasn't dallying against Spurs -- it was playing the ball positively. It was dallying today, though, and was almost the opposite thinking of what he was doing against Spurs. He should have sent the ball forward, whether clearing it long, dribbling forward, or trying to pass to Cleverley or Deulofeu. Instead, he took the only negative option.

I don't think he should be dropped. He was poor today, no doubt about it.

But then again, not many have mentioned that absolutely sublime pass through to Coleman that he played right at the end, which Coleman should have scored from.

Get him in alongside Jags vs City.

The energy of Besic in front of him was missed today.
Been poor an awful lot this season. Would be Unfairly harsh to drop Mori for either of them as well

Would like to press the "Unlike" button (if we had one on the forum) but unfortunately I agree with every word.
He probably spent the morning reading the sports section in the Times stating how CL clubs were going to battle it out for his £50m services.

The option he chose today was fine! Far better than trying to dribble past his man. The problem was the delay, waiting pointlessly til the last second.

Be great when he goes to work to be told it's £70 million or he's going nowhere

I sound bitter but I'm not,the lad needs to be dropped for a bit,I said this after the stoke game jags and funes for me

He looks like he needs a break to freshen up. We forget he is still young and played nearly every game this season. Trouble is he won't get a break and will carry on making mistakes while he isn't at his best.
