Be great when he goes to work to be told it's £70 million or he's going nowhere

I sound bitter but I'm not,the lad needs to be dropped for a bit,I said this after the stoke game jags and funes for me

But EFC will want to protect their windfall of £50m by having him on the pitch week in week out so the buyers can see his quality ......

Wonder if a club will have a cheeky bid before the window shuts?

He's doing what all young players do, making mistakes. Being the best young defending prospect in europen football just highlights his performances more.

Either way I'm sure we'll be missing and watching him play elsewhere for the next 10 years or so come the summer...

Class player but judging by the amount of goals everton are shipping they might as well just cash in on him his ability is making no difference at all in this team
that back pass today was criminal and yet again the goalkeeper like the last pen he gave away and the mess with the Costa goal at Chelsea he is too slow physically and mentally to read the situation these things happen when you get too old and past your sell-by date

Yeah bit in reality we don't want to sell our young stars if we want to be ambitious so this may be a good thing...........who knows? I just know he needs time off the pitch maybe to reset himself I don't believe this would reduce his price

He's not a defender. <<< That view was slaughtered on here a few weeks back. I wonder if any of those who threw their hands up in horror at that sacrilege are prepared to clear their throats and accept that he's pretty mediocre on the defensive aspect of the game?

Great player and will be a star without a doubt....but we can't afford to nurture his development in our current team. All young players have blips.. His are costing us dear and he needs to be taken out of the limelight for a few games...again like any young player

They're not really blips though. He just has no savvy for defending.

It's like bringing Barkley back into CD and swooning over his ability to move quickly out of the box and step out. He'd still be useless as a defender, because he isn't one.

He's a centre midfield player.

His value comes from being non conventional defender. Sounds daft but thats true. We all need to remember that he's young and atm he's clearly influenced by all this speculation.
Anyways...He's a unique talent but NEA anymore just sell him and get on with it

Come on Dave, no one like someone who says 'I told you so'

It'd be like me saying that 2 1/2 years ago I told you Martinez wasn't good enough to manage our mighty club, but I don't....Do I?

No, earlier than 2 and a half years ago, as we both know. Before he was made manager...and you've never given the man a chance at any point in between then and now.

Still, you're another one who'll just have to fume and bang your head against a door. We know RM is safe as houses.

COYBs for the cup eh?

I think you are partly right. I don't think he is a suitable defender for the club he's at, particularly playing in front of the goalkeeper he has.

If he was at a top club, who rely on 75% he would really stand out. Very similar to Pique really. But in a side that gets pressed, isn't filled with payers as comfortable as him on the ball and doesn't give options and ultimately don't show enough he is being found out a bit.

I also think it has all gone to his head a bit. When he first broke into the team he looked more solid than now.

I don't like much on talk sport but one of the presenters made a good point. A few of them at Everton currently think they are a bit better than what they are. They need a rocket and Stones is definitely in that category.
