John Stones

Guaranteed to be sung at least of a couple of times. The away lads have been great again this season.

It only seems to be at home, where the real stick gets hurled at the players.

Hello?

The only "abuse" Stones has had came in the away tie at Barnsley.

There is no difference between "away" and "home" fans......they are one and the same thing.

Indivisible and interchangeable.

I have been at plenty of away games when the fans got stuck into the team after a poor performance.

As anyone who was st Bolton four or five years ago will attest.

Of anyone who saw the "abuse" Nyarko was subjected to at Arsenal one day.

You're quite right. Some absolute wet wipe behind me at the city away game was itching to tear into Koné and as soon as he mis-kicked it or didn't run somewhere he was meant to, the lad went off on one. At least give him a chance to get into the game.

Have you noticed Suarez comments saying he miss the R's fans and how wonderful they are and how great this was to play at anfield. Don't think stones will be saying the same about us

Happen the cult hadn't backed him so slavishly when he was dragging the club's name through the dirt with racism and cannibalism he might have wised up and wouldn't have had to serve out three long suspensions and been of more use to them.

If he loved the RS fans so much you would think he wouldn't have been constantly wanting away all the time he was there.

A load of tosh, mate.

Hi?

I wasn't singling out Stones. Maybe re-read my post.

I disagree with you regardless.

Why would he have when in the last home game Stones had two chances to give a more straightforward back pass but decided to do two Cruyff turns instead?

In the Spurs one? Again, you don't see Howard screaming to him or making a move to him for the ball so he doesn't want it.

Howard's a decade plus older than Stones yet you don't get the impression he's commanding his area, helping or encouraging his young defenders.

Stones has his faults, but a keeper of Howard's age needs to be helping as much as he can.

I'm no fan of Howard's, but that back pass was right out of League Two. His judgement is woeful at times. Laconic and lacking urgency. These aren't League Two strikers he's dealing with now.

And it isn't a blip either. His positional awareness has always been suspect and his habit of going to ground is from the Dog and Duck training manual.

Reckon most of this is down to the fact that Martinez isn't the right coach to be developing the defensive side of his game?

Personally think he'd be flourishing a lot more under a more defensively astute coach.

Not being funny mate, but is there anything you don't blame Martinez for?

When it comes to this season I find it very difficult to let Martinez off the hook, it's just been such a huge opportunity squandered so badly.

In this situation it's a point I'd be making regardless of our form. I don't think Martinez is the right manager for Stones at this stage of his career. Reasons for why are obvious.

makes me want to cry, some of the nonsense in here

21yo. plays the ball like a virtuoso. confident and a very good passer.

but no, lets over analyse his game and make sure we make quick judgements because of a few mistakes as its not like the history of the whole bloody sport has not taught us to cut young players some slack.

at least Dave is on windup with his guff
