He needed taking out the firing line.

I'm sure bobby explained this to him. He's taking to many chances and it showed tonight how much the other 2 don't.

If he picked the right time to play and the right time to clear his lines he'd be back to his best

He does defend. It's a myth that he doesn't. He's liable to a mistake, like any other player is, especially one that is 21 and has lead our defence for large chunks of this season.

Agree that if he was rested it was the right move, as he's played a lot of football, but can't believe some people (not yourself) slating him. He's a top top player. One of the best we'll see at this club for a long time.

Don't get me wrong, I know the lad can defend and that he does.

Far too many attempted passes to the striker in recent weeks once he's roamed out of position that have failed to find the mark though. Leading to possession turned over and us immediately on the back foot with players out of position.

But like I said, whether it's too many games at his young age or the effects of everything that's happened, hopefully he can settle down and get his head back on straight.

Not joking mate but arguably he was single handedly responsible for the Stoke defeat and city cup defeat and that's just 2 off the top of my head

Conceded that penalty against Stoke yes, but a very dodgy decision. Shouldn't have dived in though no.

Was in no way responsible for City last week. He'd run Sterling out of play for their second and both him and Jags got caught out for their third.

Was poor vs Swansea.

its not a moon landing mate, he's probably just injured

It's more that i'm hoping its not an injury... because if it's not, its been good man management from Martinez to take him out of the firing line today.

And I like to see our manager.. you know... managing. And getting us back on track, hopefully.

Think it may have been a combination of both tbh. May have rested him, but this injury made his mind up.

Do think he's injured though. RM wouldn't have put a time-scale on it if not.

Now, the person I am hoping he has dropped is Howard...

probably a happy coincidence like the howard one, we won't know the truth of it as martinez basically just lies his way through a press conference

A mate told me he has recently bought Ashley Young's house from him in Hale. The attention from Chelsea, City and United seems to have got into his head. If they offer close to £50m in summer I cant see him staying.

For £50 million, I wouldnt want him to. Nice lad, Confident player, Bought him for a fiver. A cb that still obviously still needs alot of coaching can do his growing and mistake making at city or united, They can afford the luxury, we have proven this season......we cant.
