John Stones

We have seen the post from Esk which lays out why we may sell John Stones.
It is for financial reasons, but , different financial reasons to previous times.
If however , Everton were able to move players like Kone, Niasse , Oviedo, McGeady , Mirallas, maybe even Cleveley then the need to sell Stones may not be needed depending on how much money is to be spent on players.
The crux obviously is the ability to move peripheral squad players.
Either way, it is not a fire sales. The player is a highly rated young international and is even more valuable after the Brexit fiasco.

A lot depends on how players like Galloway, Pennington, Browning and Holgate are regarded by management. I do think John Stones is a talent, but if he were a Scottish, Irish or Welsh talent would he be as highly regarded. English players carry a huge premium and it may be that at 40m plus the club is happy to sell.
The problem last season was the obvious attempt by Mourinho to bully the club into selling.

Stones warming up there, narr leave him out now, he picked the side for 4 games now without him playing once so let them other clowns deal with it, same with Ross.

if we rejected his transfer request last season to chelsea and told him to give it till the end of the season and then see what happens then if he hands in another transfer request to leave we'd be out of order to reject him wanting to move if we havent been able to keep any promises that we gave to him last season i.e. european footy etc.. we'd probably tell him we'd sell him but only at the right price.

No way is he better than Smalling

mate he's a billion miles better than Smalling. on a bad day he's still half a billion miles better than Smalling. Jagielka is a million miles better than Smalling.

Cahill and Smalling are absolutely crap as a pairing and piss poor individually

Don't get confused by thinking Smalling was boss for you because the rest of the players around him were so crap, he's a bang average centre back who is lucky that we have a less than bang average manager insistent on picking him and Cahill.

Have you been watching Smalling in the Euro's, garbage.

Mate he is a different league to Smalling. It would be like comparing Eric Cantona to Barry Horne!
Strongly disagree with Stones (a guy who's had a dodgy season) or Jagielka being better than Smalling (our best defender by far). Seems like you guys are pretty strongly in the Stones>Smalling side so I will leave it at that

Smalling had a half decent season mate. But he's been embarrassed at this tournament alongside Cahill by championship standard attacks. Thats his level. Whereas Stones belongs at the very top.
