John Stones

This season, other than the few games just before he was dropped along with Howard (or rested/injured), how many bad games has he actually had?

As a young player with Howard behind him, Jags injured so he was 'senior' centre back with Mori, has he had a 'bad season'?

Id say hes been great myself and just in the way Barkley/Lukaku have had to play different roles he will be learning all the time.

This may affect him negatively in the short term but next season i think he will step up another level and be an outstanding centre back for us....at the age of 22.
It's not bad games, it's bad aspects of his game that's the issue. He can be having a good game then get caught out through his own hubris, which is usually more damaging than just having a generally poor game.

Fantastic today and kept covering for Coleman (im not going to keep bashing coleman but i think stones saved him a few times).

Passing was positive and he was a calming influence to Jags "all action" display.

As a few of us have said (and i hope it continues) hes had a blip and was having to deal with Howard every gsme....now i think he will come back better and stronger for it.
