Palace fan here - Textor bought a big share in the club back in 2021 and the cash was used to fund some excellent purchases. We bought Guehi, Andersen, Olise and loaned Gallagher. Those have set us in good stead. However Textor bought 45% of the business with only 25% of the control. The other 75% is covered by 3 votes from Steve Parish, Josh Harris and David Blitzer. Harris and Blitzer basically let Parish get on with it, and most (sensible) fans are happy with a Palace fan who's done an incredible job in Parish making the decisions.

Textor's view is different, he wants us to be part of a multi-club model and probably spend more money and take more risk. Parish is very cautious, we take minimal risk which is probably why we've got between 40-49 points every single season we've been in the Premier League. If you get Textor, you'll probably sign a load of players from all over the world for peanuts. Some will work, a lot won't, but he does have cash to spend and he has built up connections and a good scouting network. You'll be more like Brighton than Palace. We tend to shop in the Championship and go after players who are near the end of their contracts, available for free, or are just out of favour. The one gamble we took last summer on a Brazilian wonderkid hasn't really gone as planned (Matheus Franca).

From the outside looking in, he'd be a lot better than Moshiri but does also represent risk.
Hope you're right!

The funny thing is I often think @davek is on a wind-up, his opinion is deliberately provocative, or he's just plain wrong - even as I admire his rabble-rousing and, sometimes, foolhardy bravery. Yet, time so often proves him correct on some of those pronouncements that one might take umbrage at initially.

I've learned to sneer less at his madder takes. They might appear mad at the time, but there's regularly real method to that "madness"...and it's very entertaining regardless.
When I first got on here he used to wind me up no end, but over time you can see he does more often than not end up being right. And takes a lot of grief for it. This place would be a lot poorer without his sage council 😂. And I never thought I’d say that.

Oh, I enjoyed him from day one. I wasn't a regular here - or even a posting member - when that bitter lemon caught my eye with his acerbic clarity. Struck me as the kind of fella that had the cojones to call it as he saw it - particularly if it put him in an unpopular contrarian position. I felt he often said what I thought. And he took grief for it, as you rightly say. But the comedy value he provides is worth the price of admission alone. So many seem to take him seriously at all times, even when it's clear he has them on a very long hook...

Funnily enough, I believe I shared another Everton board with him for decades where he posted/posts under a completely different alias with a more considered style. But the format of this place suits his more demonstrative side much better. More comedy possibility here.

To the palace fans. Not a rhetorical or even looking down on your club but how many people are queuing up to buy his 45%?

He has got to sell that before he even thinks about putting a £ in to Everton.

This, if it has legs, may take a while.

Parish is looking for investors so he can buy more is the only thing I've heard. Also the other two Americans could buy more but neither want a controlling stake. All three seem to be on the same page so if they could all divvy it up, that would be ideal.

Yeah is why could see msp who i think he has links with from the past and moshiri stay on giving up his shares. Then have an agreement for him to buy them out, hopefully things can start to kick on after friday

Blitzer who is one of the other Palace guys is an MSP guy, he is involved with FC Augsburg as are they.

Thanks for the insight.

I'm a bit torn here. Lot's does sound positive. But i'm dead against the multi-club idea. I want nothing to do with it. It's Everton that should be the owners focus, no one else.

It won't be hard to be a better owner than Moshiri.

To be fair it's been said that Moshiri would wait for his money off 777, so as not to hold the deal up, unbelievably. So the same kind of deal could be used for textor.
