If his head has been turned by the smell of cash then then let him go and get as much out of Shiteh as we can.

Then get the legal boys all over the tapping up from Sparky and the Arabs and get a few quid more.

There are very few players that even know what loyalty means these days so we should not be surprised when they want to leg it at the first sign of loot.

Get the cash - move on - Everton will be around a lot longer than Lescott, you, me or anyone else.

Dont worry about it Neiler. Ive clearly got out of bed the wrong side this morning, just a bit peed off. I just dont feel as if we are kicking on like we should, plus the headache ive had for 2 days and add the fact that my fecking keyboard keeps locking up, it makes me go green like the Hulk.

No worries mate look at it this way we are stronger then this time last year.

Its always a marathon rather then a sprint with Everton when it comes to the windows.

Spot on (y)

mmm.. looks as if he's walking unless moyes bolts the door.. but would we want that?

no 'benitez begs lucas to remain at anfield'.. (hilarious!) for us thanks.

How can you hate the guy? When money like thats been thrown around ofcourse a players going to accept it. Its setting them up for life.

I think he was set up for life a few hundred pay packets ago. Football pisses me off sometimes, you grow to really like a player and [Poor language removed] like this happens. With all the millions of pounds these footballers have you think it would be enough, and maybe they'd want to stay at a club that they're comfortable in and know how to link up with other players.

What annoys me is that it IS clearly just about the money. What my ideal situation would be is Lescott stays for 6 months, sees how city are doing, if they're playing well, leave and get us 25 million in the process. We have Jagielka back. No worries. I think he should really wait and see if the City 'Revolution' happens. 'cause he'll regret it if he joins and it's missing out of Europa again.

Let's welcome his departure, the income will help the club a long way. Look at how we became stronger after we sold rooney. If buying cheap and selling high is a way to generate income then I'm fine with it. What can we expect when the [Poor language removed] is still clinging onto the club.

I think Lescott will stay for another year and leave next summer, similar to Gareth Barry and Villa last season really. Then Moyes has got a whole summer to find a replacement and he'll also have the main man back - Phil Jagielka.

If we have a really good season and show some ambition he may stay, you never know. We'll have to wait and see really. I guess it depends on how City do aswell, whether or not they fulfill there potential.

if city dont pay 30 million then they are not getting him.

if lescott demands a move , a moyes dont wont to sell him , then he isnt going.

whats lescott going to do ? demand a move or threaten not to play ?
if he does that , its possible moyes will let him rot till next summer on the bench, thus lescott will not be picked for england and the world cup.

any player who moves from a high placed team to lower placed man city is nothing more than a greedy low life imo.(if i was a man city fan i would certainly question there loyalty and character)

i will say this about city , they are gonna change managers as much as they change there pants. no manager in the world will be able to keep that squad happy and motivated over a sustained period.

you mark my words , they will win a fair share of big matches but will lose to the poorer teams through lack of respect and motivation.
team gelling and bonding is gonna be all over the place and players will constantly go on a strop.THEY WILL NOT BREAK THE TOP 6 !

everton on the other hand clearly have motivation to fight for every game and unlike the manchester branch of al-queda , we are in europe.

its a shame becouse i liked man city , i think they had a good grounded base to there squad and work ethic ...... hart , ireland , onohua , richards ,swp , dunne etc - all good honest players imo.
it could be said they had a very similar ethic as everton .
but they have just gone mad with the money and think they can buy success while at the same time they are destroying the foundations all the decent hard work and team building thats gone on in recent years has acheived.

ps , if he goes , i bet jagielka goes to the world cup and lescott dont.(y)

BBC SPORT | Football | My Club | E | Everton | Lescott wants Everton departure

Everton defender Joleon Lescott has told the club he wants to leave but is yet to hand in an official transfer request, BBC Radio 5 live understands.

Lescott is wanted by big-spending Manchester City, who have twice failed in their bid to sign the 26-year-old.

City have offered £15m and £18m for the England player but Everton are desperate to keep him.

Ok, its not good when somebody like the BBC print shiite like this, they dont "tend" to go in for rumours.

Ireland's a good honest player?

good luck matey, hope you enjoy all those ££££££££'s extra in your pay packet.

Not impressed by his stance though. DM shouldnt let him go for less than £25 mill and then some.
Lescott moaned about being played at LB - Tim Cahill says ' I would play at left back if the gaffer asked me to'.
That's what playing for a team means. J Lo simply let the hype get to him and has been turned by promises of all sorts. Remember lad, all that glitters is'nt gold.

I don't expect loyalty to win, if it's loyalty v £££.

Good luck Lescott.

I actually WANT him to go now. Just to get him out the door and let the squad settle.

Let's be honest, 12 months ago, we knew he was a good player and worth a bob or two more than we paid for him, but never did we think anyone would be mug enough to pay £22m or whatever it turns out to be, and we'd have bitten their hands off if such a offer ever came in.

Senderos will be a very capable replacement.
