The Echo may be correct and Moyes may be determined to keep Lescott, but what if Lescott wants to move? Why cant he just come out and state what his situation is in public then all this speculation and uncertainty will disappear?

He has already twice, he shouldnt need to say it every week.

We should be looking to take these parvenus to court for tapping up a player.

Where's lordy when you need him?

KaBOOOOOOOM.

Havent seen the chap for a while, shame really, he was alright.

Well he may have said no until City actually came in for him and now he knows how much he would pick up each week, his mind may have changed.

Bear in mind the club controls player media comment. Maybe they requested him not to make a statement?

What is there to hide if Lescott wants to stay? Everton where quick enough to deny the recent takeover rumours but are slow in every other department, transfers being the slowest of the lot.

He knew how much as soon as City contacted his agent, round about 3 months before the season ended probably, maybe even last year.

Everton as a Club cant really say they are trying their best to keep him, he will want to see us making progress, by signing some players, I think thats what hes waiting for.

Maybe they're leaving it open: if City trigger a figure in Moyes' head that he'll accept then allowing Lescott to rebuff publicly City's offer wouldn't be a wise move.

Relatedly, why haven't Everton reported City to the FA?

If City offered him £100+k a week, I doubt he would be arsed even if we signed Kaka.

Why would we?

He'll go just before midnight on deadline day, then by the time January comes around the money will have mysteriously disappearred
