Than Mykolenko? He was one of our better players in the run in.

….I think he was a mixed bag, terrific goal at Leicester but he can be quite wasteful in the top third. There were times when Nkounkou looked a machine going past the opposition. As a WB I think he has a lot of potential and possibly a better option than Mykolenko.

Mykolenko is a far better player than Nkounkou. I don't think he will be at the club next season

We should definitely have both Mykolenko and Nkounkou in the squad next season, no more RBs and CBs at LB. It will also allow us to focus on other areas of the squad in terms of transfers.

As this is the Kenny thread, does anyone know if he's been released yet? If he's on the retained list I have bad vibes about next season.

He’s utterly terrible. Not sure how anyone would want him to stay. League 1/Championship at best
Having ‘backups’ is exactly the mentality that took us here.

The problem with ‘backups’ is that they play 10-15 games a season.

All of the squad are essentially 1st team over the season so what you want is competition for places, players that can push the ones who have the shirt so that when you need them, they’re good enough.

Kenny is a player they have tried to sell and loan out for years. Now he’s finally off the books it would be crazy to repeat the mistake.

They played Iwobi at full back to avoid using him, what does that say?

Giving him a contract would be proof that once again we have learned absolutely nothing from the near death experience this season.

He's not good going forward, don't get me wrong. It just seems to be an oft repeated thing that he's a steady reliable defender but not good enough going forward when in reality he's reasonable enough on the overlap and as a crosser but a dreadful defender.
I'd settle for any of our backs to be good defenders.
