Agree with others we need to start having a better squad. Having sub standard players because they're happy to sit on the bench is partly to blame for getting us in this mess , Rondon, "he's only back up he won't play" ; you know DCL will pick an injury up, he picked a massive one up and we had a very very unfit Rondon as our main striker.

Wish JJK well in his career but he needs to move on.

Iwobi has proved beyond all doubt he can play in the same position and basically offers far far more going forward.

So there is literally no reason at all for him to be retained. He had the game of his life against Leeds at home and tbf I bet he'll admit he played far more under Lampard than he would have thought possible.

The Wolves game at home really showed his lack of quality.

Lots of heart, not enough quality.

Think he was the young player hurt most by the constant merry go round of managers tbh, completely wrecked any form of career plan for the lad same with Davies too imo. Both had potential to be solid premiership level players, but had that chance ruined

Much truth in this. I also think that Lampard, and possibly Cole, see something in this lad's character to believe he may be worth a contract. Nothing to prove it, but he has always been looked upon to either start a game, or be used as a substitute. Options have been limited I appreciate, but as I said, nothing to prove this other than just a gut feeling.

Nah kenny and Davies both have the same problem, in a league based on pace and power they don’t have either of them. It wouldn’t matter how many managers he’d had or how good they were, he’d still be slow and slight, and that’s what’s holding him back.

From a business point of view. New contract, sell at a later date. Wages will be cheap. Even a low £10m sale brings us profit.
Horrible to say, especially when talking mental health and using a player like that. But in this case it might not be a bad idea.
See if there is something there to work with, being taught by one of the best full backs this country has produced, and Ashley Cole.
If sommat there, great. We have a decent player on manageable wages. If not, we make a bit of money, and the lad has got some pointers from some of the best full backs seen in this league.

On what planet are we getting £10m for Jonjoe Kenny? This is just utterly mental behaviour.

I agree with that, Davies definitely missed out on coaching.
Kenny could easily go off and have a good career elsewhere, I think he deserves that more than third choice right back playing a couple of cup games a year.

He's not good enough give the opportunity to a younger kid if we have no money for squad players.

It is accepting mediocrity if you are giving new contracts for players not good enough. The problem is he's miles off and we can't really trust him in Premier League matches so what's the point.

He wasn't good enough to get in the Scottish league!

Like Penno, Garbutt and McAleny?
