Jonjoe Kenny

Iwobi has proved beyond all doubt he can play in the same position and basically offers far far more going forward.

So there is literally no reason at all for him to be retained. He had the game of his life against Leeds at home and tbf I bet he'll admit he played far more under Lampard than he would have thought possible.

The Wolves game at home really showed his lack of quality.

Lots of heart, not enough quality.
So you really think Iwobi is a better right back than Jonjoe?

No he can’t play LB, LWB or RWB. His position is apparently RB and he can’t even play there. He’s absolutely crap and shouldn’t be near us.

After one game at Arsenal in a5-1 defeat, you think Iwobi stood out in that position,

Iwobi away at Arsenal played in a back 5 as a WB just like

Palace at home W - moved to AM just before ht
Brentford home L
Watford A D
Leicester away W
Chelsea Home W
Liverpool away L

So, unless you didn't see any of those games you'd know he played in exactly the same position as he did against Arsenal and if you did see any of those games you'd seen he was miles and miles and miles better than anything Kenny could have offered.

The last 7 games he's literally played that position so I'm unsure how you think Arsenal was a one off??

Nah kenny and Davies both have the same problem, in a league based on pace and power they don’t have either of them. It wouldn’t matter how many managers he’d had or how good they were, he’d still be slow and slight, and that’s what’s holding him back.

Truth in that mate, but I do get the opinion that as a club we basically do almost zero individual work on players to help them improve, these lads should be having individual summer pp programs designed for them to work on things like physicality etc, take Gordon in the space if a season he's gone from looking a complete lightweight into a player whose developed physically and now looks like that is an asset for him.

The academy is a joke in reality, the focus has been on the results now rather than the longer term gain of the club and young players, thsts what happens when you hsve people in position who are more arsed about their own CV thsn the club (Unsworth)

I agree with that, Davies definitely missed out on coaching.
Kenny could easily go off and have a good career elsewhere, I think he deserves that more than third choice right back playing a couple of cup games a year.

I don't think at any point with Davies, the clubs sat down with him and determined a long term position for him, he's 24 now and literally still hasn't got one.

Would him and Kenny ever had made it at the very top, unlikely, but they certainly would hsve developed better imo had they been with a club who has a focus on development of young players (we painfully obviously don't)

We have given him enough chances to improve himself but he still does not meet the standard of a PL player. I think he will be good at Championship. Hope he can find a good club.
