….lets not forget, the lad is playing for his future so he’s 100% on at this point.

Not necessarily playing for his future at Everton (we can’t be giving him a new deal) but he’ll be wanting to impress suitors who will offer him a contract next season.

i don’t think we’ll recoup monies if there’s no offer on the table from us.

I would rather have him as back up to Patterson long term than keeping with Coleman. I cant fully comment on the game yesterday as i missed large portions of it been in work but he overlapped and provided a decent cross for our 2nd and linked up well with Gordon at times and kept the ball. I thought he did well 2nd half against Brighton another assist and linked well with Gordon again. We had nothing on that side when Coleman got pulled to right back.

….he will want a 3 year deal on at least comparable wages to what he’s on now. I don’t think that’s sensible.

i disagree & think Coleman is very much superior, but regardless of that, Coleman only has 18 months left which is ideal to let Patterson bed-in & assess longer term options in that position. We have too many millstones with ineffective players in the squad, as much as I’ve enjoyed watching Kenny coming through the ranks he’ll be another.

I know we love to moan about our players, but that tackle that led to the goal, Huddlestone who is twice his size, forced the ball off him. He didn’t “bottle it” at all
Yeah, was wondering what all this “bottled it” chat was about. If it’s about the goal, it’s beyond harsh. Good tackle to win the ball initially, overran it and went in for the challenge with their player who won it. Didn’t see him bottle anything, players lose tackles it’s part of the game. Ultimately we shouldn’t have conceded a goal from where he lost the ball and to blame him is embarrassing.

Yeh, unfortunately, we just love to find fault. Was a soft goal overall but never Kenny fault

Next season is Coleman’s last season. After that we’ll need to spend money bringing in a backup right back to Patterson. I’d give Kenny a contract as back up for Patterson, he’s on relatively low wages for a prem back up, don’t think he’ll rock the boat if he’s not playing every week and we can concentrate on spending money on players who improve the starting eleven.

Ermm, wasn't that because he was as one of a back 4 rather than a back 5?

Coleman was very much superior, but that was a long time ago.
