Mate you're using a sample size of 2 games where he is not match fit after no pre season.

I would love to know who in your opinion would be an upgrade on Pickford that would want to come and we could afford.

Also that bit in gold is hilarious. Let us get back in Europe first, yeah?
 
Must be very difficult for all the English World Cup players to come back and focus on their clubs after the hype during the summer. Pickford has done as well as any and as he settles into the season will get even better.

Pretty sure that keeper only got a yellow for that, Germany has produced some seriously good teams , but, they get an awful lot of big calls go there way in massive important games . They’re the Man U of international footy.
 

He looked complacent to me in the first 2 games - is his head in this or still turned from the summer?
Nothing wrong with his talent but he looks like he needs to get locked on.

I think he’s more than decent, and I think he’ll become even better. I also think a lot of people give him too much rope based on his passport.

Im not a scout, so wouldnt know. I could rattle of FM names all day, but we all know the worth of that stuff. I would have loved us to have signed another senior keeper to give Picks some time off and someone to share the pressure with and learn from. Stek isnt that guy.

The club was just in the media talking about us planning for the CL, if thats the goal, I dont get why we shouldnt build towards that. Getting into the CLspots and staying there is glory enough as a start for us, Im not talking about us winning it. Given time I think Jordan will come good for us, but he’s still a bit to raw in some situations.

Every player makes mistakes. No player is faultless. So come off it with your 'not good enough' remarks.

He's the best young goalkeeper in the country. He's just made it to a World Cup semi-final. We've made a good start to the season.

He will improve. He will sharpen up. He has had to come straight back in and play two games without any time to sharpen up in pre-season.

I get what you're saying but I disagree with the bold bit.

There are 'levels' of mistakes. A striker mis-controlling a ball out wide and it going out for a throw in is one thing, but mis-controlling with the goal at your mercy is quite another. If a striker keeps being let down by their touch when chances come their way it's a problem. Same with a keeper. Punching when you could have caught or putting one out for a corner when it was going wide anyway are mistakes, but dropping shots into your six yard box or letting balls squirm under your body etc are much more serious issues.

Pickford is a good keeper, but he does make a worrying amount of mistakes for my liking if i'm being honest. I think he's made big errors in his last three games for us, and that run needs to be ended soon or it becomes a real problem.

For now, that is the gap we live in. Taking chances on the almosts and hoping they become what is hoped for them.

Fair enough. Personally, in the premier league I would only put De Gea, Ederson and Lloris ahead of him as certainly better than he is at present. Which would put him as good enough for top 4, especially in a few years. All opinions though

We're not aiming for CL glory.

What the hell are you on about? Are you genuinely saying Pickford isn't good enough for us?

I'm sure someone will disagree and go 'Well, Alisson and Kepa are better - look at the money paid for them.'

As it is, he's the fourth best 'keeper in the Prem and that's not a terrible niche to have really.
