Watch the goal again. Pickford starts on the left post, then panics and runs to the centre. The ball is nowhere near the centre, which is why he failed to reach it.

When a player is heading the ball from 6 yards out, do you think rooted to your line is a good position? I would say it isn’t if i’m Honest.

To be honest I have only seen the goal at the match and it happened quickly so am going off that picture so what am saying is he had 3 unmarked players in his 6yard box that is awful defending ?

Well yeah, it is awful defending, but 3 players don't head a ball. It's awful keeping as well as awful defending.

No, of course not. His part was poor positioning, moving out then going back on his line, then launching himself like Superman instead of jumping up and knocking the ball over the bar. Look at the image, the ball is there for him. Also look how many Red/Black shirts there are compared to Blue ones.

He can't stand rooted to one spot like a traffic cone, FFS. And the ball is already past him in that image.

No mate the ball is whistling past him at speed , didnt matter which part of the goal he heads it to either. Nobody on the posts and anyone of those 3 attackers could take their pick. They are totally unchallenged.
Horrendous defending every week , if this zonal marking isnt ditched and quickly, there will be goals conceded like this from every set piece.
Blame the keeper by all means but if you dont tackle the root of the problem there will be problems every game.

Like I've said Mate, I'm not actually blaming Jordan Pickford. The two photos below shows (to me at least) how ridiculous the whole situation was with the goal. The first shows our players lined up on the edge of the six-yard box, and the second shows about five of our lads in and around the guy who flicked the ball on, leaving us completely exposed in the middle. Do these people not communicate with one another? It reminded me of being at school, where you have all the kids chasing the ball.

A still photo belies the actual action. The ball is simply moving far too fast. He throws his arm up in a vain attempt to stop it. Slice it any way you want, he had no goddamn chance. You really want him to fail, don't you? You and all of his other constant critics.

Well, I'm not a constant critic of Jordan Pickford by any means. I feel he is a top young Keeper who will only get better and better with the right guidance and coaching. Also, why on Earth would I want him to fail? I want all our players to do well, but nobody is beyond a bit of scrutiny and or criticism.
