If the goal wasn't his fault, how can you say he didn't help himself much? Corner came in low and with pace; once its path changed, he was hung out to dry. The second header also had some strength behind it, so given all that you tell me how he's going to defend 192 square feet by himself?

When something happens, like a goal, it's often due to an accumulation of smaller incidents like poor covering/marking, a slip, a bad pass, etc. So I'm not saying that everyone else did their job perfectly and Pickford messed up. He just played his part in a poor goal against us.

No, of course not. His part was poor positioning, moving out then going back on his line, then launching himself like Superman instead of jumping up and knocking the ball over the bar. Look at the image, the ball is there for him. Also look how many Red/Black shirts there are compared to Blue ones.

Yes true I'd go with that. What's frustrating is that is not that hard you need a few players with a big gob on them to let everyone know to switch on and be ready .that goal today is worse than schoolboy defending

Good post mate. The problem with Pickford is he goes gob off all the time - he's fantastically arrogant on the pitch for a player who fails week in, week out to achieve his position's primary objective.

Not sure what makes him ‘arrogant on the pitch’ to be honest. He’s clearly very confident, which I think is a good thing.

No mate the ball is whistling past him at speed , didnt matter which part of the goal he heads it to either. Nobody on the posts and anyone of those 3 attackers could take their pick. They are totally unchallenged.
Horrendous defending every week , if this zonal marking isnt ditched and quickly, there will be goals conceded like this from every set piece.
Blame the keeper by all means but if you dont tackle the root of the problem there will be problems every game.

I haven't seen a replay back since seeing it live, but it was a free header, centre of the goal on the 6 yards line. I really don't think the keeper is the main issue here.
