I can see United going for Oblak with him refusing to sign a new deal at Atleti. Realistically speaking, United would have to make Pickford the most expensive keeper ever for us to even be interested in negotiating a deal.

Sometimes there's only so much a keeper can do when he's got a useless shower of crap in front of him.

Because I'm so used to Everton getting decent players, only for them to bugger off to a Big 6 team a couple of seasons later. It happened with Lukaku, it happened with Stones, I don't want it happening to Pickford just yet.

Pickford is in a strange position whereby his realistic and totally fair value is probably something no club would pay. As a fan base and a club we have every right and justification to say he’s worth north of £80 million. But I just can’t see any club paying that for him.

Hazard is in a similar boat at Chelsea. He’s one of the best in the world and Chelsea could realistically have demanded over £100 million these last few years. No one would argue he isn’t worth it and yet no one has come forward to pay it. It’s a strange dichotomy which I think Pickford also finds himself in.

The Clubs ambition is the key for players staying. We somehow have to gate crash the top 6 and show ambition to stay there otherwise good players will leave. If we are showing willing in trying to be a top team then half the battle is done unless Man City, Barcelona or Real Madrid show interest. Nothing to stop them going to them as they are the best teams in Europe probably. We would usually get a couple of seasons out of a real good player and no more unless we are showing genuine progress and by that I mean giant strides.
 
If he goes, he goes. Lad has no reason to decide anything other than what’s best for him at the end of the day. Thing is, there is no offer and it’s got people excited. Why on earth some journo has plucked £60m out the air is beyond me? Lost any sense of credibility in that alone.....but got us talking regardless hasn’t it?

You know what? He may go at some stage, but only if the money is right and he wants it also. Until then, file alongside the other speculative rumours that get thrown about in an international weekend when the papers need to sell a few copies!

Hope he stays for many years, but I don’t get drawn into anything that says since joining Everton he’s had an epiphany so he’s here for life. Let’s see

Well said. Some people cannot see the bigger picture. Glad this forum wasn't here when Southall let in 7 goals against The Netherlands and was still MotM. People wouldn't have been able to comprehend the stats
