2018/19 Jordan Pickford

He is our keeper and will be our keeper for many years to come. Even the very best keepers make clangers these days. The worst thing about today was that it happened in the 96th minute when we had no chance to do anything about it.

Tough to take but we will get over it as will Pickford. Roll on Wednesday when he will need support when the Horsebeaters will be reminding him about it in no uncertain terms.
Mute point like but it was the 97th minute in a 94 minute game...talk about Fergie time :(

People are just upset at the howler.

I like all our players currently, unlike most of last year's team. I haven't seen anything that bad. Bar the irrational hate Walcott gets.
Which again is sad. You only have to watch games properly to see he has defenders guessing all the time. If Gomes scores that header today nobody in this forum would be hating on him.

I am proper dead inside Tim. It's horrible.

We were excellent today and it's cost us. But it's a fluke. A fluke of a shot. A fluke of a mistake. A fluke of a bounce.

Look at our chance with Gomes. He heads it, Alisson saves, it comes back to Gomes, hits him, is going in, but Gomez somehow gets there and hits it against Sigurdsson and, somehow, it goes out for a corner.

Yeh, it's an awful error. But friggin hell, when their luck runs out, it's going to run out big style.

I fear for us mentally over the next 2 or 3 weeks. I like how we played today of course, but that's a total sickener. I'll be very pleasantly surprises if we win on Wednesday. It's one of them awful moments that wreck seasons and even sometimes careers.

Thankfully Pickford seems the type who is strong enough to get over it, but he seriously needs to cut the unnecessary risks out of the game. Jumping up and tipping the looping ball over the bar isn't glamorous or exciting but it's sometimes the sensible thing to do.

Silva has a very big job this week. The players will be just as sick as all of us. It will be a horrible day tomorrow.

I am humiliated by this derby record...a record that feller has contributed to in the most embarrassing, needless of ways.

I could give a flying one about Pickford and his feelings. It means a lot less to him than it does to me, I can GUARANTEE you that.

He's an ego. That's all. His arrogance has just cost us in a Merseyside derby. I make no apology for calling him out on that. Not one bit. And his compounding of it by hiding his catastrophic error behind a coward's comment like "it's just what happens to Everton at Anfield" was a disgrace.

We have him and he has no substantial competition for a starting place. That to me is unforgivable. It's a situation we have to see addressed in January.

It would rattle out a fantastic point if Silva went out and bought a new keeper in January. That would hammer home that he wants genuine quality in depth for each position and give players who throw games away the punishment they richly deserve by dropping them.
