The only way of avoiding a third derby day calamity is by not playing him. This fixture has him pegged now. He'll never get out from under the cloud of derby balls ups. It's in his head and it wont shift. We'll have to score three in a derby to secure a win if he's in goal for us against them in the future.

i know much of your ire is concentrated on pickford here, but how did you think we played..pleased with silva?

But c’mon Rob; you’re calling the man an insignificant supporter?
What would happen if Dave didn't watch the next match? No one would notice.

Yes, the club needs it's supporters but no single supporter is actually significant to the club and however much a defeat hurts, it hurts the players more if it's their error that costs a goal.

His distribution is his most overrated feature, sure every now and again he pings a nice ball out but a lot of the time it's very iffy

Agreed.

I don’t see any great ball “distribution” from him.

He generally hits it to one or other wing leaving the receiving player tight on the touch line with a tricky enough task to control the pass, let alone do sommat creative with it.

He gets a big hand to it and puts it over the bar. Its Goalkeeping 101. There is no other option.

I think goalies overthink things these days, get it away from danger, that's what they are there for.

If they score from the resulting corner then they score from it. No blame would go on the goalie there as he did his job.

Indeed.

It is almost like his first thought was to catch the ball in order to start a quick counter attack rather than merely keep the ball out the net.....and tipping it over was the safe and sensible option.

We will never ever progress when giant mistakes are met with an ‘who cares, everyone makes midtakes’ attitude.
I dont actually think we need to shift Jordan because of this, but he’s screwed us twice against the rs now and a third should never happen.

Watched the highlights in real time - he has to go for that. Obviously he needs to put it out for a corner, but the ball could have really done anything there.

Crock of crap.

What school of mistakes did you graduate from? The Peter Perfect School of Talking Out Your Arse sounds like.

Would have been 7 goals scored if everyone took the chances on offer.

Most of it, but not because he made an error that cost us a draw, because he didn't hold his hands up and say he should have gone with one hand and just made sure the ball cleared the bar. We played well and should not have lost. Very pleased with Silva.

If I was in that team yesterday and Pickford came through the door into the dressing room i;d have tried to knock him out. 96 minutes up in flames after that arrogant spanner wnats to play to the cameras. And no mate, I dnt think it is just you and me and a few others who are livid at this feller. Only a handful of people on a forum think what he did was defensible and/or accaptable in light of whatever else he's done.

Dave stop being an utter prat, your faux outrage is cringe worthy and just makes you look an even bigger clown than you usually are. Wanting a player knocked out for a mistake, Jesus wept

Some people dont see the scale of the problem we have against Liverpool, and their backing up Pickford is part of that problem.

It's an unvirtuous circle we've gotten into as a fanbase: the acceptance of smackdowns from that lot which is conveyed to the players who then accept their 'fate' in a derby which is then accepted again by fans and then on we go to more and more reversals.

Understand this: no wins in a derby since 2010 and no wins at Anfield for 19 years is an unbearable stigma and an utter humiliation that cant be handled by many of us anymore.

Pickford's howler and his woeful post match comments have to be seen in that context.
