But it's not, and it IS a disgrace and it IS humiliating.

Every one knows how bad the record is, every club has had a bad record in some form at local rivals, Leeds for example hadn't won at Sheffield United for 26 years before Saturday. If you let it dwell on you then you will feel humiliation, seasons aren't defined on two games against rivals, they are settled by what you do in the other 36 games, we've had set backs before this season and we bounced back everytime, 6-7 points in the next 3 before Christmas and this will have been put to bed

I'm still waiting on who it is we're supposed to be perusing to replace Pickford with. All I'm getting is silly shouts of "anyone!!" which only proves that they don't have the slightest idea of who we could get that's any better Pickford and would even entertain the idea of playing for us. No, like children lashing out they just want rid. Be dammed to logic and common sense, the bedwetters want action and they want it now, they just can't tell you how to go about it.

Ok, so the hangover has kicked in, time to recollect thoughts on this.

Shocking, shocking, shocking error. Not buying the 'the spin on the ball' crap or the 'it would have happened to any keeper'. He should of tipped the ball over the bar, no two ways about it. It's the second time he's cost us the game against Liverpool and for all the good work he does, it goes out the window with moments of madness like that.

He's far too erratic for me. But, that said, he has saved us countless points, notably the penalty save v Palace this year which would have made the game 1-1.

Not slating him, but it was POOR decision making! Cost us a much deserved point. Wouldn't have minded as much if he hadn't came out previously stating how he wouldn't blunder like Alisson.....I was sent a link to that comment by every RS mate I know.... :(

It was poor and it did cost us , I’m not sure it can be argued .

As for the link I know if isn’t like kopites to be stupid or pathetic but you’re a blue so google the article the headline is about and read it . It’s about him playing the ball out and getting caught , the headline unsurprisingly doesn’t reflect the truth .

Everyone forgetting the superb save he made off Shaqiri to keep us in it at 0-0. It was a freak moment and a bad mistake but he has proven his worth on more than a few occasions this season. Mistakes happen. De Gea in the world cup?

would have made them game 0-1 to be fair

he's not far to erratic he just made a horrible error in the worst possible game, he'll bounce back and keep on making boss saves like he has done all season

Done the same last year against that lot mate. I remember even his last England match being very lucky after rushing off his line and getting caught out.

Just needs more composure sometimes cause he's a great shot stopper.

Agreed.

I don’t see any great ball “distribution” from him.

He generally hits it to one or other wing leaving the receiving player tight on the touch line with a tricky enough task to control the pass, let alone do sommat creative with it.

You do realise thats what he's meant to be doing?, you're taught from a child that straight long balls are a no no

Except he didn't say that no matter what a daily mail headline tells you

I think a part of his arrogance is that he doesn't really "get" the club.

Even a look at his twitter its England this, England that, compare that to players like Richarlison and even Gomes etc. And they proudly have them wearing the Everton shirts on their pictures, constantly putting posts on about our games etc.

I hope he isnt booed on Wednesday but I hope the fans dont try cheer him more than normal either as he has to realise that our fans wont accept that sort of crap especially in the big games.

Hopefully he'll learn from his mistake and as has been said if we sign a top striker in Janaury and finish 6th come the end of the season (with a positive result in the GP derby hopefully) it will be forgotten about however he needs a kick up the backside and to stop taking stupid chances.

We had that game secured yesterday. Almost. Then Pickford happens. Again. Nothing to do with too soon.
We didn't take our numerous chances, had we done so Pickfords brainfart would not have mattered, he's saved our arse on many occasions, we didn't save his yesterday by scoring a couple.

If we are going back to the cup game then that goal is far more on Niasse than Pickford, as soon as he can effect the ball in that space he's meant to drop onto the post, instead he just stands there like a lemon.

This isn't anything like what he said and you're behaving like a bad melt as per

Liked your post even before clicking the "show ignored content" as it was so predictable who you were responding to, and how negative the content of his post would be.

Not a fan of him blaming 'Everton luck' afterwards too

This!

That's actually annoyed me more than the error. We have to concede Liverpool are better than us so to have players using phrases like that only adds to the psychological barrier of going to Anfield next time and makes it harder. The pressure to beat them at Goodison I think is huge. We've had a generation go through school never seeing us win at Anfield, we're getting close to kids leaving school without us winning a derby full stop.

Using phrases like "Everton luck" is making that record seem excusable.

A fair assessment. If you look at a lot of the top keepers in the league though, they are all prone to moments of madness.
