2018/19 Jordan Pickford

Pickford might of made one of the biggest mistakes of his career but it doesn’t hide the fact we are missing a striker sorry decent striker. We have played well and created chances away to Liverpool arsenal man united and Chelsea but only got 1 point.

..and a top drawer striker is not only about converting more of our chances, they also create and score in their own right.

Ok I am getting annoyed now. Is nobody reading anything today.

I would play him there IN THE MEANTIME. Unless there is some boss free agent striker out there that I am unaware of? At least then we could get an idea of if that system would work as he ticks the strong and pacy boxes.
In the meantime till when mate. You said striker is not a position we needs to look at.

Your getting confusing now

Well said Big Nev
Let them have their days, but let them also know that we just went to their back yard and went toe to toe with them and could have easily come away with a win, we scared the living [Poor language removed] out of them hence the celebrations.
The tide is turning and they know it, also there are bigger more important derbies to come in the coming seasons of that i am sure

I didn't say that! I said its not necessarily the solution to our woes, I stand by that, but if that's the system we want to go for then he is the one to play there until we can get that person in as he would be the closest to it.

I don't think its that confusing to be honest like.

I have also just realized we are in the Pickford thread...

Richarlison is the player to play there in the meantime..

DCL can't cut it.

Striker is 100% priority

But you want a strong pacy forward who can finish?

Richarlison is kind of pacy, strong but not massively so and yeah he can finish when he gets a chance.

DCL is both strong and pacy. His finishing isnt there yet but again, how often has he played that role and how many chances has he actually had?

I too would play Richarlison but I don't mind the front 3 we have now, but if we wanted to try what you are suggesting and see how it works then DCL would be the best option until said player arrives.

Sod it, chuck Fraser Hornby in.

Absolutely this. Nothing to do with mentality, simple fact is they are our 'bogey team'
The whole concept of 'bogey teams' is a weird one but it is a phenomena that definitely exists. The only consolation is that another phenomena 'the law of averages' means that ALL bogeys come to an end eventually.
It is mentality, it is not supernatural, bloody hell

Don't quite get the DCL hate. Tosun irritates me more as he should be near enough in his prime. DCL is still young.

Neither are good enough.

I'm just glad Marco thinks the same.

Both won't be here next season

I'm confident we will have two actual strikers that can either run or finish. Or mind boghlingly enough a bit of both

Nothing special about this game Dave. We missed sitters against Arsenal and Man Utd as well. We just lack in front of goal, nothing to do with any curse. We have plenty of creators, we just need to go all out for a striker in January and if that means selling Tosun and Niasse we should do it.
There's no belief against Liverpool. Even if we'd converted the early chances you know we'd have sat back and back and invited loads of pressure and buckled.

There must surely be a reason for it that we van identify, even a 4th division team would beat there premiership derby rivals a good few times away, why are we so cowardly and pathetic, something needs to be addressed
You saw last night what Pickford said about it "just being Everton's luck at Anfield". You know you dont have the human material on the pitch to get the job done when they take the field of play with that fatalistic attitude.

Richarlison is faster and stronger than bambi Lewin though and a much better finisher, it's his position til January when we hopefully get a good striker in.

Or marco sees sense and unleashes the oumar

I mean your here saying the players dont have belief while you lack the belief yourself.

Pickford was only echoing what every single Everton fan thought once that ball bounced off the crossbar.
