Comparisons to Tim Howard? Good lord. The bloke was practically pointing where in the net he was inviting opposition players to put their free kicks in towards the end. Gerrard scores one at Anfield that was legitimately in the middle of the goal and Howard couldn’t get it at full stretch. He used to guess which way attackers would go on one v ones effectively leaving them an empty net. He also fell over under any high ball in his box at all, not to mention mastering the art of the pointless dive that somehow involved him moving nowhere laterally but becoming even shorter vertically so he was beaten by dairy much any hopeful punt from distance. An utterly abysmal goalkeeper.

and?? you do realise the defence has a big say in clean sheets. I mean Sunderland, and Evertons defence last season wouldn't contribute very well to keeping clean sheets. Big nev let 7 in against Holland, 6 against Villa, 5 against Liverpool so would you blame Nev or the defence.

More proof that stats are meaningless in football.

A defence (including the goalie) should not be measured on clean sheets but more on how they cope when they are needed most. Moyes' "boss" defence would always crack when we needed them most.

Jesus Christ.

please make it stop..

NURRRSE!

Outside of possibly Martyn, I can't think of another keeper who has even come close to Pickford's ability since Southall left the club

Howard, Gerrard, Mucha, Robles, Stek, Wright, Robinson

He's better than all of those

Thomas Myhre was tremendous for a while and then lost his head and went awful. His debut against Leeds is still the best goalkeeping performance I have seen in the flesh.

Wait...Robinson? Am I having a mental block here?

Didn't you start Pickfordgate. Most of us recognised his balls up and put it down as a bad error others seen it as a chance to twist the knife and try to convince us that he is crap and always been crap which in itself is hilarious. The majority of us are more astute to be caught out or sucked in by such ramblings.
I have never said that. I have coinsistently described him as mediocre and bang average...which he proves at almost every available opportunity.
