But he is. The England manager sees it and so do Everton a far bigger team than Burnley when we decided to spend money on him over either of them 2 ( pope hadnt broke through at the time to be fair)

They know he did but they have to find something else like his kicking to moan about. We always criticise our better players if they have the odd bad game but praise the inferior if they run around a lot. We have some cracking players at the club such as Pickford, Digne, Zouma, Rico (bit inconsistent but great on his day), Siggy, Gomes, Bernard and Gana. Some more with potential but still a distance from being good enough and some that stink the place out but shouldn't. I would say all of those players have been slammed this season by quite a few apart from probably Digne and Bernard. It is not acceptable for our better players to have one or two bad games or all the told you so, never wanted to sign them punters start piping up but if a poor player runs around or has the odd decent game then they are highly praised. Just the way it is.

Heaton certainly, tbh not seen much of Pope but know he was statistically superior last year

really tired of him trying to pinpoint his goal kicks to Walcott and Bernard, Just leather it up to the striker.

It was a no win situation. VVD wins everything so DCL wasn’t gonna work. Bernard is tiny and it frustrated the heck out of me when he tried to pick him out. Like that’s ever gonna work? And Walcott just wusses out of everything. Luckily Richarlison challenged Robertson when he came on.

All that said, just stop lashing it out of bounds Pickford. Otherwise well played.

Obviously he didn't want to punt it down the centre when VVD would dominate, but why not narrow the angle by a few yards rather than straight to the byline?
