Whoa there. Most would love to have? He’s 12th I think he league in save percentage. His distribution is poor. His performance as a keeper this year is objectively mediocre at best.
I think you have to look at the defence and midfield he is playing behind, I am not sure that many keepers could do that much better in the circumstances and certainly I do accept that he has made some high profile blunders.

The defense has been fine. They’ve given up like the 4th least amount of shots in the league. This isn’t last year where he was being pelted. He saved our tails last year often, but our defense was truly awful.

The Goalkeeper is exposed because of the defence and the midfield.

The defence is unsure because of the goalkeeper and the lack of midfield protection.

The midfield is under performing because of the defence and the forwards.

The forwards are struggling because of the midfield.

The whole squad is inconsistent because the manager keeps changing things.

The manager can't be blamed because it's not his squad of players.

Sounds like we're nearly there, just a few tweaks.

Summed up perfectly.

And one man is responsible for all of those factors.

No no no.

The defense is concededing fewer chances and Pickford is letting in more of them relative to last year and much of his career. He’s also doing so more often than others in the league. He’s not playing well. This is pretty simple.

The tesm has collective issues, but you can surely measure individual performance. He faces chances and shots just like any other keeper. He’s at best performing average at dealing with them.

I still cant decide if he should be dropped or not for Chelsea.

One side of me thinks yes, he was all over the place on Saturday and if it was an outfield player he would be dropped
The other side thinks he needs backing, the old arm around the shoulder - not binning

I see Pickford as similar to Joe Hart, capable of brilliance and equally capable of the ridiculous - Since Pep dropped Joe Hart he's been to West Ham and Burnley and ultimately been dropped by both - Which leads to the question that was Pep was right and Joe hart wasn't good enough? Should Marco do the Same?

When you see pickford doing these sorts of things .... and we have Duncan Ferguson sat on the bench the romantics among us would be thinking he would be pinning the lad up and shoving the Everton badge in his face saying "ya listen here ya little meff... you play for Everton not the the dog and duck - get ya heed right or I'll get the rave on right on your face"

Sadly I don't think it's the case at all. If Roy Keane was coaching United players that would happen.... sadly I think big Dunc only got stoked up wearing a blue shirt on the pitch

Roy Keane is a bad knobhead though.

Ferguson would be in no position to comment with his timely suspensions etc.

Pretty much yeah.... he's like a wet fart.

"Errr Jordan... when you parry the ball out their players have a chance of scoring the rebound... can you try not to do that? And can you not argue with opposition fans.... ok thanks".

Pickford walks out smirking whilst continuing to play angry birds on his phone whilst chewing his gum and throwing his shoulders back and strutting like the alpha male he thinks he is.

How's Baz these days?

lol

I’ll never understand stuff like this. Why would Roy Keane scare anyone into doing anything? Because he’s an idiot? He’s a midget. Being intense on the pitch and an a-hole in real life isn’t going to motivate anyone.

It's not about scaring it's about telling a young lad who things he's the mutts nuts that he needs to reign it in.

Shall we replace Keane with Vista or butcher or Sutcliffe or Reid them? Or maybe just say.... "what would fergie do?"

Once a goalkeeper starts making stupid mistakes and behavin like an idiot it's usually the start of the end.

Seen loads look Good and then fall away once their head gets too big or they get made to look daft. David James, Joe Hart, Green,...

Steady Eddie's like Martyn, van der Saar etc..
