It was about a yard in from the top corner, well saveable.
Any keeper would have expected to save that free kick....
Disappointing from Pickford...

Yeah but about 75% or more will make the same mistake Pickford did by second guessing the taker and ending up on the wrong foot at the wrong time. It happens, as long as it doesn't become a regular thing I ok with it.Any keeper would have expected to save that free kick....

Hopefully, he is young in goal keeping terms and he, learns to temper his ‘cocky’ attitude and concentrates on his keeping.
Could go either way it’s up to the lad hopefully what happened to Hart is something he can learn from.
He's a good GK. I'm happy enough we have him. But I dont think we should handle this lad with kid gloves. He's an England international and showed a lot of focus and determination in the World Cup. If he thinks he has to produce anything less than that for us he can GTF - and I wouldn't be arsed about it happening.I agree with all that and as with another's comment that he is immature and with time should become more mature. Time is on his side and hopefully the goalkeeping coach (whoever he is) will be guiding him.
I tend to agree but it's a fine balance between bravado and confidence. Joe Hart showed how not to do it. Take the blame when it's your fault too.
I think that is a VERY GOOD example of where this lad will end up if he doesn't focus.
As said before, during and after the WC: I wouldn't be too concerned if we sold him. I detect a big fault-line in his attitude and I can see it widening in the future.

Quite right - I thought that made the difference
It was a ridiculous decision to retain Stekelenburg and thereby place no pressure on Pickford whatsoever.I've seen less of him than most. A few Sunderland games, a bit of England and his games up to Unsworth and then yesterday. My impression so far would be good young keeper with some strong points and great self confidence. He does however have a bit of Joe Harte about him who was ridiculously over rated. Over confidence can lead to a lack of humility and concentrating too much on putting up a front when you make an error or are having a bad game.....rather than just getting your head down and concentrating on your game.
I don't see anything yet to make me think we have a great keeper on our hands. Which is fine as he is very young and doing well, but goes against what the opinion of many fans seems to be. I too wonder if we might regret in the near future not cashing on the world cup boost and selling to Chelsea.
However even if he continued just at the same level or improved only a little bit more, then we still have a decent keeper for the foreseeable future. It's definitely not a burning issue....this is Pickford overhyped or boss debate.
The little step to the left didn't help either, infact that could have been why he didn't save it.Any keeper would have expected to save that free kick....

Michael Keane shows no confidence and he's a coward and mentally weak.He is acting like a Billy Big Bollocks. That's the DNA of that lad. You can see a lot of bravado mixed in with the talent he has. He was screaming and arguing with Keane I think it was today when he was getting told to get back in his goal after ridiculously running out. Bravado's all well and good if you're Gigi Buffon. If you're Jordan Pickford it isn't.
Needs to find some humility this kid I'm telling you.
I think he messed up the FK which was already a shambles anyway. Not particularly at fault for either goal yesterday but my word does he concede a massive amount of goals
